Hello I bought the definitive edition of age of empires 3 yesterday, and I was inventing my new strategy with mercenaries and my first try I found the napoleon gun and I loved it but since then I can’t produce it in the tavern (I play with Germans) is these mercenaries units random at every spawn is there some way to have napoleon gun every play ?
Mercs in taverns are mostly always random. The only civ that can reliably get the Napoleon Guns are the Americans with the French Canadians card.
You can play Sweden and spam Leather Cannons though which are… close enough.

USA has the Napoleon gun available in saloons, after sending 2 Napoleon guns shipment.

I see, thanks guys for the reply unfortunately I don’t have USA DLC and wanted it to be available to Germany, but it seems can’t be done ;d

If you want it for germans it’s just luck unfortunately though the new mercenary camps card let’s you train some strong german mercenaries out of 4 buildings. Being able to train giant grenadiers and pandours is very nice.

If you play Sweden instead you’ll have Leather Cannons which are the non-mercenary unit equivalent to Napoleon Guns. Otherwise it’s random what you get for mercenaries. You should be able to see what is available before you build the Tavern and commit to a strategy.

Revolting to the Napoleonic era with the French will unlock them in the tavern as well.
