Discuss Mihira Bhoja (2P Co-Op)
Hello,
Thanks for this new coop campaign
The campaign looks very promising, but we were unable to complete scenario 1 with my friend. Capturing all the 7 villages does not allow us to go to Castle age, neither does destroying one enemy’s Town Center. Also, after beating 1 enemy, the “Enemy defeated” count stayed to 0/2. We also tried to buy the Elephant for 500 gold, but it did not work. We were stuck at Feudal age trying to fight 3 enemies which were at Castle age, which proved impossible.
Maybe it’s related to the trigger being different for Hard vs Medium difficulty? We played it in Hard.
We’ve just completed Scenario 2, which worked, but the “Ash-something” player did not behave as it should have, it did nothing, so we had all the time we needed to build an army, and defeat all AI players, instead of rushing for Devapala’s monument.
Hope this can be fixed, thanks a lot!
Hello and sorry for the late reply. Odd to hear since I’ve tested these levels quite a lot with many methods and worked. I will re-investigate these issues. Thanks for your input! Hope the rest of the campaign was enjoyable at least!
Turns out you are very right. Some conditions are to be read from scripts, which I should have used the “Multiplayer AI Signal” instead. I will fix the whole campaign and reupload it.
Today I’ve learned a lesson I didn’t even thought haha.
Hello @JadenVance ,
Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, the reimaining scenarios were also probably bugged, because enemy AIs had a strange behaviour (most of the time, not attacking, and basically sitting in their camp), so I’m assuming some triggers did not work for the same reason.
Let me know if you want us to try your fixes with my buddy, we’ve enjoyed all your other campaigns very much, your work is much appreciated, as good co-op campaigns are becoming rare.
I look forward to re-doing the campaign once it’s fixed,
Take care
I thank you for the report, it’s indeed a great oversight by my side but it’s the first time I’ve met this kind of design.
To explain it better:
Most AIs begin from a trigger calling a signal which is stored in the ai files for better control. Because I left the default “AI condition” in the triggers, this doesn’t fire at all on a multiplayer environment, hence why some AIs never activate, triggers that rely on a specific signal to be called arent registered or ai’s not training many units.
I already fixed the first two missions, I will fix the rest after work and I will upload it probably within this day, or tomorrow max.
Hello, I’ve just updated the scenarios and the ai files, did some tests and everything seems good.
Test the campaign again and let me know if you find any other problem. Cheers!
Hello @JadenVance ,
Thank you for updating the campaign.
We’ve tested again the first scenario with my buddy, and sadly it seems all the bugs are still present
We had uninstalled and re-installed the mod, so we assumed we were using the correct updated version, but we didn’t how to make 100% sure that we were using the updated version?
The bugs were the same:
- destroying the 7 villages does not allow us to go to Castle age
- the “enemy defeated” count is not updated when we defeat one enemy
- we even managed to kill 2 factions, but this didn’t trigger the win
- we try to buy the elephant for 500 gold, but it also didn’t work
Let me know if you need additional info,
Take care
That’s strange, I’ve personally tested the scenarios. I don’t get it…
Here’s my steam: Steam Community :: Jaden Vance
Add me as friend and we will test it together, in hope to understand what the hell is wrong with it.
Just did a fast test (and with cheats too hehe) on hard with a second account and everything worked as intended for me.
Capturing all 7 villages allowed us to advance to Castle Age.
Defeating an opponent counted at the objective list, as intented.
The AI was aggressive and creating armies as intented on hard.
Paying 500g to purple completed the Elephant side quest.
Looking forward to try the mission together and see what the hell is wrong. Cheers!
Hello @JadenVance , thanks for your reply.
I’ve added you on Steam
The only explanation I can find is that we were still using the old files?
We found it hard to know which version of the mod we were using when creating the coop game. My friend could see that the mod had been updated in the “mods” screen, but we didn’t know if there was a way to wipe the files completely before downloading the update. Have you ever heard about players having trouble updating to a newer version of a mod?
Or maybe it’s because of the order in which we did things in the first scenario?
We took 2-3 villages, then attacked & captured the enemy forum, then tried to buy the elephant (didn’t work), then took the remaining 4 villages, and were unable to go to Castle Age.
On standard difficulty you need to capture 3 villages, on moderate 5 and on hard all 7 before you can advance to castle age.
The elephant quest only need either player to activate the quest, then either tribute 500g to P8 (Purple) and player one receives the hero elephant, helpful but not a hard requirement for the mission.
Nonetheless, we will test out the recent version and if no problem encoyntered, I will replace the maps with new names and reupload them once more, in hopes it will be finally working. See you on steam.
I’ve tested the first mission with my brother and worked perfectly. I’ve updated the campaign again and changed the map names to include the v1.3. Hopefully this time everything should work fine…
