Ok these new Nootka changes lol. Letting clubmen 10 batch is kinda scary, but with their stats maybe they need it. Plus it kinda fits with the Potlach tech, trying to spam them as fast as possible. The War Chief changes are basically taken from one of my suggestions so I’m pretty much fine with it, the main problem right now is they don’t work properly with the Ransom button and you can still delete them. Also the option to train them from Explorers is made redundant since you’re always at the max build limit.
As for the rest of the nat changes this patch, most aren’t too objectionable. I dislike the change to Berber Camels. I’m of the opinion they should be left as they are, as a weird archetype breaking unit. We already went through this with the Dervish, and they’ve been nerfed so many times at this point you’re better off making crossbow. But I do understand the concern from a balance perspective and from community outcry. Instead of 0.5x LI which is much too harsh, 0.75x should do just fine. Remember they have base 22 attack, so with 0.75x that’s already half of what a Hussar deals. The Darood changes I’m mostly fine with, in this case they gave where they take improving their intended counter matchup while taking away some damage vs other units. If they could revert the range changes, even +1 I think the Darood would be all set. Last, the Issa. To me there’s always been some confusion as to whether it’s a pike with range or a musk with multis. I’ve favored the former interpretation, but the devs clearly think the latter based on their recent changes. Again, the multi changes are somewhat understandable from balance, but the speed bonus makes them less fun to use. I’d rather them keep the Issa at 5 speed but reduce the range from 14 to 12 or 10.
