Mod: RayMind - Annihilation of the Monarchs

Hello,

I’m creating this thread for those who want to discuss fixes/improvements to the mod I created: “RayMind - Annihilation of Monarchs.” To easily find it in the in-game mod list, simply type “RayMind” in the search box.

You can, if you wish, make comments, or simply share your experience using the mod, including what you liked or disliked. If I have the time and the comments are relevant, I may be able to include your suggestions in future updates to this mod.

Here’s the description of this mod:

Skirmish for annihilating enemy monarchs. The idea is to make stone walls more resistant for games against 7 AIs in absurd mode, for a bit of a Tower Defense style.

What the mod adds (applies to all factions, including DLCs: Knights of the Cross and Rose & The Sultans Ascend):

  • Stronger stone walls through available (but expensive) upgrades on walls, gates, towers, and keeps.
  • Siege units can now walk on walls to defend a position.
  • Free camera.
  • Peace treaty allowing a delay before the AI attacks, giving you time to prepare for war.
  • Possible increase of total population up to 400 via upgrades available at the town center (but expensive).
  • Upgrade available at town centers and houses to add additional space, reducing the number of buildings needed to house your population.
  • Slight increase in stone mine capacity (not too much to keep economy management enjoyable).
  • Upgrade available at the town center and university to allow villagers to automatically repair nearby structures and siege engines. Repairs can be toggled using a button in the capital’s town center.
  • Possibility to deactivate building defenses (action in each building) allowing you to temporarily not attack enemies (very useful in multiplayer mode).

Known bugs:

  • House population cap does not visually update, although the new value is applied (bug with Entity_SetStateModelInt on population_cap_increase, which doubles the value when reloading a save). So after upgrading house capacity from 10 to 17, you will still see 10 displayed, even though 17 is effectively applied.
  • The housing capacity upgrade for the Delhi Sultanate does not display on their houses.

Planned future improvements:

  • Once the Age of Empires IV Editor is no longer in beta, I hope the upgrades will become accessible (reflect mode currently not included).
  • Improve AI behavior so it uses the new upgrades and adopts a more defensive stance (wall and keep building).
