Mods never load, infinite 'Searching' loop and skirmish replays not uploading.

  • Build Number: 24099613

  • Platform: Steam

  • Operating System: Windows 11

Issue: Since this issue started, the Mods menu no longer functions correctly. When I open the Mods browser, it remains on “Searching…” indefinitely and never returns any results. No mods are displayed—not my own published mods or any community mods—and I am unable to enable, download, or manage mods.

At approximately the same time, I also noticed that skirmish replays are no longer being uploaded or registered by the game. After completing a skirmish match, no replay becomes available to view. It appears the game is failing to communicate with the backend services responsible for mods and replay uploads.

I have already tried:

  • Completely uninstalling and reinstalling the game.
  • Restarting my PC.
  • Verifying the game installation (if applicable).

None of these steps resolved the issue.

Because both the Mods service and replay uploads stopped working simultaneously, I suspect there may be an issue with the game’s online services or my account’s connection to those services rather than a problem with the game installation itself.(please provide a detailed description of the issue)
(use the upload button to include a picture or video of the issue in action if possible)

Trigger Event: I cannot identify any specific trigger. I do not recall changing any settings, installing new software, or taking any unusual actions before the issue began. The problem appeared unexpectedly.

(what was happening at the time of the issue. this could be an action you or another player took right before the issue started)

Repro Steps: Launch Age of Empires IV.

  1. Navigate to Mods.

  2. Observe that the Mods browser displays “Searching…” indefinitely and never loads any results.

  3. Attempt to search for or enable a mod.

  4. Start and complete a skirmish match.

  5. Check the replay list.

  6. Observe that no replay is available or uploaded.
