The title “Khan” is a male one.
Thus, the female version of this unit “Khan” should be removed!
Thanks!
This is a game, and it has to be PC because of the modern requirements. So the Khan can be female.
Or use title “Khatun” if it’s a female.
Yes, Khan means male lord, in Mongolian history never been female one.
However, it could cause confusion among players.
Keeping it “Khan” and male would make it simple and accurate
I also wonder why there are women shouting in the combat units in the game… There were few female soldiers in the middle ages…
I thought there was a female leader at one point as an interim regent between two Khans. About a 5 year length of time or something.
The Mongol Female leader’s title is “Khatan Khaan” which means queen king.
Yes, she did and was a very skilled one.
Okay so instead of suggesting for removal, perhaps a simple change of text would resolve your complaint?
Maybe, but as I said it would cause confusion.
People are too lazy to understand Khan and Khatan Khaan’s differences as a unit.
At this point I am just glad that unit man at arms is not called person at arms.
There are a ton of game breaking bug so who care about this “fantasy”?
AoE4 mistake was not to give women’s voices but to claim about historical accurracy.
Where did you gain this false information? In Mongol army, women soldiers existed. Also Khan’s one of wife (generally first wife) ruled the khaganate when Khagan left the capital. This is central Asian tradition connected to “Tengrism” Religion, Turks also seek same tradition, It is written in the Travels of İbn Battuta 2nd Ottoman Sultan Orhan’s wife ruled the Sultanate when Orhan left the capital Bursa. Ottomans slowly left this tradition after Persianization.
I think the OP is mainly just nitpicking about the literal word “Khan” and how it means male ruler. It’s similar to how there’s no such thing as a female werewolf (linguistically, that is). Because the prefix “were-” literally means “man” while prefix “wo-” means woman. The corresponding female version of a werewolf would be a “wowolf”, if you will.
You are going a bit off topic here.
We are talking about the “Khan” title for the “Khan - unique unit” of the Mongol civilisation.
The “Khan” is a male title, “Khatan” is a female title but means she is married to “Khan”.
If a female person is leading the Mongols, she would be given the title “Khatan Khaan” which means Queen Leader and that means she is not married to “Khan”. If she marries, she will turn to “Khatan”.
No, guy I replied talking about different thing. He said women isn’t active in Mongol society just like Europeans but reality is different.
I 100% agree with you.
We should remove the Khan unit from the game and make it Khatan Khaan only.
uuum, what do u mean?
U got it wrong…
Why do I have it wrong, Khatan Khaan is correct right ?
And you are complaining that calling a female Khan is not correct ?
So I got it right. Remove Khan completely and make it Khatan Khaan.
i wish the all units could be women
