think this is the best portrait with poseidon. really nice - wish all portraits would be more like gaia and poseidon even i understand the reason for themed holiday ones.

Question, i have seen people either love or hate this design based on if they like the “groot” version of gaia as i have sen it called, personally i like it. Whats your take on this one?
I like the old style ones not really a fan of new ones that much that’s why as you can see in the last picture I posted I am not using new ones except for Gaia just to show it off from being unlocked.
I stopped commenting a while ago, because apart from the Poseidon one, I haven’t liked or will use any of them. At first I didn’t realised they were themed to holidays/ event days. Not my thing, but if others are enjoying then that’s great 
Now that they have the silly themed ones out the way after next months, I’m hoping the next community event rewards will be more inline with the tradition of the game 
Devs, if you’re reading this, please give us alternative statues and/ or portraits with serious poses.
My reason for not liking the design and it’s that her face isn’t facing towards the front to the same degree as many other portraits which makes me kind of have to squint in match to see that it’s a Gaia if someone else uses it. But that’s honestly a really minor thing I’m complaining about.

i am torn between the urge to collect and not particitpating cause i also really like more the direction of poseidon and gaia as alternatives. (i skipped Thors and missed Odins) I am 1000% also more a guy who likes immersion and therefore fittings and serious styles in games but i get the attraction for more light-hearted “goofy” skins. i am personally also not really a holiday guy regarding celebration and i am happy for all who are and like these kind of options but i would prefer those light-hearted alternatives to be on top of more immersive and serious alternatives and not that those are “the main thing”. reminds me too much of League of Legends where it escalted too over the years with more and more light-hearted, corny and goofy skins which i sometimes used cause of mood and theme but only 1 out of like 20 or more times. so barely a use for me personalyl at least.
i would like to see a ratio of like 5 serious immersive alternative portraits to 1 light-hearted/funny one.
still appreciate the idea in general and making a community event out of it is still a really great idea!
i may be in the minority but out of the holiday/funny skins i think Odin’s and especially Hades’ one might even be the best ones with Aphrodite as the close second. I don’t like Thors cause of the pose and the odd mix between a more “stiff” pose and some “drunken celebration” and how he holds the brezel. I think Aphrodites has great and fitting pose at least and the vibe of the image is good and fits her well (and that comes from a guy who thinks valentines day is superfluous) the ones i like the least or Oranus one and - even its cute and wholsome - Bast’s. cause its simply too close up and too cute and robs her completely her seriousness unlike Odin’s and Aphrodite’s in my opinion at least.
Kornos is a hit and miss for me personally but i would really rather prefer something just in the direction of what ideas i gave in my other thread which you were the most active on (what i really appreciate but i feel very demontivated that i started with less serious stuff now too and thinking about dropping it…)
Heck i personally would even prefer an alternative god portrait where the god is in the image of their dedicated animal. Like Odin as a crow, Zeus as an eagle and so on. But maybe thats also a bit too far fetched.
Anyway i would much rather prefer the holiday ones to be a mod-pack (maybe an official one).
Also about the statues idea its really sweet of you that you carry that wish through i also had and hoped for when i heard about the upcoming cosmetic pack. but i really fear its just a very simple (and it would be imho lazy) colour texture switch to gold and nothing more… which would be an immensively missed opportunity - at least in my opinion. but cool you think the same/similar way!
i also understand where you are coming from but for me thats not an “issue” at all and i would - personally - welcome elsewhere more consistancy than in portraits. like hero balance for civs and less crazy ideas for favour gahtering just for the sake of individuality even greeks - and now japans - are the most interactive and “immersive” one (at least in my opinion at least) for example.
