My Comprehensive List of Requests for Age of Mythology: Retold

1:The Trojan Walls and Gates should be repairable, just like in the original version.

2:Retold should include the Tab key full-map display feature, just as the original game did.

3:Player-deployed God Powers should mark their deployment location on the mini-map, just as in the original game.

4:Gaia faction Town Centers placed in the editor should also be allowed to spread the fungal terrain. While this wasn’t possible in the original game either, Retold should expand on this concept and improve upon it.

5:Certain hero units that cannot collect relics—such as Polaris the Polar Bear in “The Golden Gift”—are still ordered by the AI to retrieve them. As a result, the unit ends up spinning in place over the relic.

6:Retold should incorporate a day-night cycle lighting feature, just like the Extended Edition did.

7:Reintroduce the DLSS functionality that was available during the initial July 2024 test.

No. What about tactics?

I don’t even know what to say. I’ve never thought about it. If we’re going to implement this mechanic, it has to work. For example, some mythic units should become stronger at night or vice versa during the day. Or vision should decrease at night, like in Warcraft 3.

If you have the DLSS function, I doubt that your video card can’t handle this archaic game.

Can’t you enable that with triggers?

This is also something you can activate with triggers.

That could be a new pantheon feature. But it would probably be pretty hard to implement well because ever map has it’s own lighting.

Also I would personally dislike having the lighting change all the time. Good night is hard to do in an RTS because you can inherently not see at night because there is no light. To make it playable it would just be a super unnatural blue hue. Doesn’t feel like night for me.

I can indeed run this game smoothly, but that doesn’t negate my demand for DLSS implementation. As for the day-night cycle suggestion, it’s solely about making the visuals richer and more dynamic—something I can’t achieve through triggers myself.

I haven’t found a way to use triggers to make Trojan walls and gates repairable by villagers — at least, as far as I can tell.
While Gaia’s Town Center creep can be handled via triggers, wouldn’t it be better if it could spread naturally by default.

I think you probably have to modify the villagers to make them have the ability to repair the Gate.

In AoMR units can only repair the buildings that they can build. So Norse Infantry can’t repair other civilisations buildings for example.

I can’t repair my ally’s building? I periodically built TС together with the ally’s workers.

Yes because all workers can build TCs but not all workers can build Counter Barracks. Try helping your ally build a building that you don’t have.

This change is probably mostly because Norse villagers can build houses now so they can’t assist in building other buildings.

Its a bug. You are not affecting the TC being built when you assist an ally. If your ally leave all his units and Just yours remained tc Will never progress.

If the ally has 1 unit and you add 10 to help the build time is gonna remain the same.

Its either not meant to be a thing or hasent been ajusted to work.

And why is this done?

Dunno, as i said, theres a bug. Either its not intended to be a thing to be able to assist allies and we are getting the animation that we falsely can.

Or its meant to be a thing that Just isnt working. Either way it was reported some while ago and hasent change.

It’s not that villagers cannot repair the Trojan walls and gates — they can indeed go there and perform the repair animations with their hammers, but the structure’s health points never actually recover.

oh ok, I think that is fixable by modifying something with triggers but not sure what.

Like edit the repair/heal rate of villagers for the Trojan Gate, something like that. You should be able to make the Egyptian Guardian repairable too.
