Actually that helped coh3, the latest patch was the best since release and the hotfix was pretty fast as well.
i mean, youād expect that after segaās hammer dropped hard on them, its been questioned many times by lots of people why the pace of relicās development is so glacial
Yes, itās not a bad game, but after so much waiting, as happened with aoe 3 at the time, perhaps it didnāt meet the expectations of manyā¦
yes, i would assume that the main problem could related to Essence Engine due it has been developed to support and run on different type of RTS with a limited number of units. If i remember well, Relic worked hard to modify its engine to develop AOE4 but the final risult is a total mess to me: readability is not so good despite the low textures on the most of models and the total absence of a vivid maps.
when i say this game can not be recover i mean that developers could add more civilitazations, nrew modes, new bonus for neach units and ecc. but if you want change the perception on how the game have been represented you should redone all the graphic.
Simply, Relic is good developers but probably not the right choice for this franchise due the technical issues related to own Engine.
Finally i installed the new big uptade for AOE3de and i canāt say how appreciated the hard work of Tantalus and Forgotten to reach more immersion and historical accuracy of this game
Itās incredible to me how excelent a modified version of Bing Engine.
I suppose AOMRE will be graphic stunning and this is the final test for Forgotten and Tantalus as the potential developers for the next installment of AOE.
And i think that a return to the ancient times should be a logical step because Aoe1De is the only version with had not the main of improvements of the other titles (from formations to diplomacy options). Yes, developers redone some campaigns with Aoe2de engine but what it miss is a new modern game set in the ancient times.
Roman empire is the most beloved period and we donāt forget that the new Gladiator movie is upcoming soon.
Sure, AoM Retold will look amazing as 3 DEā¦
And AoEO?..they could release a DE version on Steam (itās still on Steam but hidden) by 2026 and thatās itā¦Gamescon 2026: āDo you miss it? You will have itā¦AoEO DE Fall 2026āā¦
I can tell you about players who have a preference for AoE4 graphics because they feel smooth and comfortable (they are not burdensome to the eye with colors and details).
Yes, maybe the 3 DE graphics look better⦠but maybe itās tiring for many peopleā¦
thereās definitely truth to this, i donāt personally agree but i can see where theyāre coming from
Every time someone here says how much they want to see the Romans in a game I wish more people knew about AoEO. Itās great to see the Romans now in AoE2 but I canāt help think that instead of that version with two unique units people would prefer our proper Roman civ with a full roster of them.
What one person calls smooth and comfortable others would call drab and lifeless. What one person calls vibrant others would call oversaturated.
Graphics is a tough business.
What? The most distracting thing in age IV are the pastel colors⦠the only thing missing in age IV is a barbie theme.
I donāt think you have any idea what colors a toy would have if it were Barbie.
I vote for AOE4 XD
20 characters
I say what some people think about art design.
Of course, they should continue to improve the textures over time (as they already do), the animations and give the environment more richness.
to be fair, season 5 proved the textures arenāt really the issue, rendering side is
one day i hope the fortnite styled smoke and particle effects are corrected to fit the aoe style better
particles of X019 trailer were rock solid, idk what happened with particle effects by release
Some Esports pro players complained for sure xD
I can imagine their reaction wide and clear
or its another side effect of the game being launched way way too early
Sometimes things change in development and thereās no way around it (promotional videos rarely being a valid demonstration of the final product itself, and often marked appropriately).
Marketing is a real double-edged sword. You take material from development and make it look as good as possible, but at the same time overhyping something is a real possibility.
Mid-2019 (I think it was a summer video) was more than two years out from release. From memory it said pre-alpha footage? Iām on mobile, and I havenāt dug it up in a while.
Personally, itād be cool to know more about the whys, but in my experience itās often a waste for developers to open up about this stuff because theyāre just used to dunk on the devs. Or some other group of players, for example this forumās insistence on some secret competitive player cabal when the game (as all games do) will have gone through focus testing (usually publisher-side, independent of any testing groups like the Council). Multiple points of feedback make the game a final product. Most armchair experts have basically zero exposure to this process (of iterating on and shipping a game).
Yes, it is well known that they were not going to go much further with the Romans in AoE 2 eitherā¦
When i said that Grimlore (german developers behind Spellforce3) would had been the best choice for a next AOE game set in the ancient times, i meant this
This Is the new Titan Quest 2: the First One was Amazing. This looks very promising with stunning graphic.
Trailer Is fantastic.
Now, imagine this graphic for a AOE next title.
They have a incredibile graphic Engine to develop RTS and RPG.
