Narrator Issue - I hear Text to Speech instead of lady voice over

Hi,

I recently resumed playing the campaign and noticed that the narrator voice is now the Microsoft David Text to Speech instead of the voice over (British lady voice). I checked the Accessibility settings and all the text to speech options are turned off. I am currently playing a mission to defend Moscow from the Mongols. Is this a known bug? How can I fix it?

Same issue here! I finally decided to do the campaign and this happens, had to turn it off immediately -.-

Same issue here. It also applies to the Art of War Narration. I hope this can get fixed before the campaign DLC.

Yep… still an issue. Really weird bug but its super annoying to play the campaign atm

Having the same issue. If this persists when the new expansion release, it will be terrible to have to play the new campaigns with the same robot voice.

I wonder if this issue is related to the missing unit/villager voices, which I am also experiencing? Maybe corrupted sound files?

Having the same issue along with missing unit voices. Uninstalling doesn’t fix it.

I have managed to fix the issue by uninstalling the game and reinstalling to C:\XboxGames.

I think the issue was that the game was installed (way back at launch in 2021) into C:\Program Files\WindowsApps. This is no longer the default install location for the Xbox app, and it’s possible the game had pointers to sound files that were supposed to be in C:\XboxGames. I don’t know for sure, but now my game files are installed in C:\XboxGames the issue is fixed.

That is a super obnoxious issue. if that is the actual case… though i typically never install games in C:// So I am curious why this would be an issue now if this is the case…

Ill have to give installing it to C a shot if the drive has room.

Hello everyone! I would like to inform you that I was able to fix the issue. I uninstalled/reinstalled the game. This time, I installed it in (in my case) D:\XboxGames. I bought the game when it first came out in 2021 and it seems a lot has happened since then. I pretty much followed Zorgulon’s instructions (Thanks Zorgulon!) I hope this helps!
