Well in AoE4 there actually aren’t any map bans at all.
Only downvotes. The game matches players and then randomly picks a map from among the least downvoted options.
The more downvotes you allow the more likely it is you’ll end up having to play maps you downvoted anyway.
Hypothetically, if there are 40 maps and I’ve downvoted 20, and you have downvoted the other 20, when we match every map has one downvote. So it will have to pick a map that’s downvoted.
Ranked tends to have better maps. I recommend just playing that instead of QM.
