Nerf healer elephants

Move them to castle age there way to strong in feudal and they need nerfs in healing a lot.

Worker elephant need massive nerfs too, they are too fast, even if you raid them, its useless they can just run away and way too tanky for a 50+ resource, they had like 400hp lmao

also need a Cooldown to spawn them, instant spawn elephant is dumb when other civs need to build camps???

like Golden horde 75 resource to build a Ger permanent on that spot, yet this elephant cost the same and can run everywhere wtf?

and u can spam 3 of them at start to get all sheep and they can be used as meat shields

I do like them in Feudal.

However I think the healing might have to change. They’ve got two Imams on their backs which individually heal a lot, and occasionally focus heal together for a massive amount. This means when you have two Healer Elephants, they absolutely outheal most things.

Considering that the Healer Elephant acquires more damage the more units it is surrounded by, and that it deals Splash damage, encouraging further back up to reach the frontlines, I think it’d make some sense to make the Imams heal everyone around them for a flat reduced amount that cannot be stacked. This means that having multiple Healer Elephants would not increase the heal. The trade off is that they are healing more in general, but aren’t making certain units in your army immortal, and it solves the issue of them being effectively unkillable when massed.

This would also double up with that Fort ability, to make them a bit like Prelates who buff their units with more damage, making Healer Elephants far more like an actual Support unit, while still dealing some damage like a cheaper War Elephant.

In fact, I’d probably want them to remove the War Elephant for Tughlaq and make the Healer Elephant a type of hybrid. Call them Battle Elephants or something. I’ve enjoyed that they are infinitely cheaper than the War Elephant, and actually something you can produce at a reasonable rate, who are less risky and have a more immediate impact than the War Elephant which is usually overkill.

Double imam should be an upgrade and not by default. Too much abuse in multiplayer ranked match.

Starcraft 2 that aim to be competitive multiplayer put heal 2 targets at the same time, even burn twice amount of energy, as single player campaign only upgrade. This should point out how powerful able to heal many targets is.

This is completely fucking stupid. I just lost a 2v2 against a French player and a Tugluc who just massed HEALING ELEPHANTS.

I took a look at their MMR across different seasons and their last 10 games. They’re Platinum, and they beat Conquerors. They’ve won their last 9 games.

And their only loss is… against the same strat.

This is just absolutely disgusting. I don’t want to play ranked anymore. I’ll wait for a fix patch — or nothing.

I can’t believe how someone can be a developer and release this Civ in such a state, without seeing the problem it represents. It’s beyond me.

Just played 4 more games in 3v3, 3x tughluc, 3x game ending after 10min of healing elephants.
Game is definitely broken.

It’s been a bit tough to have 4/5 of them grouped and no matter what army I can muster together they don’t die ?

A better change:

Reduce most of their stats, create a “veteran upgrade” in castle that bring them back to current stats.

You know, the main problem with the Healer Elephant, more than the unit stats, is its Cost.

I mean, other elephants are also heavy units and very powerful, but they compensate by costing a large amount of Food: 400 War Elephant, 200 Raider Elephant, 400 Tower Elephant. And that is the problem with Healer elephant, his cost is soo low for such a level of power.

I mean: 150 Food and 225 gold?

That’s too cheap for a 450 HP unit in the Feudal Age (Knight has 190), with 3 melee armor on top.

A normal monk costs 150 gold. Shouldn’t having 2 monks with heavy armor cost 300 or 350? And worse, the Landmark reduces its price.

I would set the cost to 250f 300g, or 250f 250g.

Regarding Battle Stats: The unit “dies easily” using Crossbowmen in the Castle Age. However, it’s not easy to achieve a fast castle if these bastards rush you.

Awful suggestion. I would rather them weaken Healer Elephant’s healing or health, but let me keep affordable Elephant units. The biggest problem with Elephants in AoE4 historically are their insane cost and I don’t want a repeat of Delhi being an Infantry civ with Elephants in Imperial.

You can tell they basically put a Castle unit in Feudal by the model, as it’s literally copy pasted over, whereas Imperial has a model. This is actually what makes them strong.

Make it simple and give them one Healer in Feudal, two in Castle and three in Imperial. Maybe reduce their health in Feudal too, and that ought to be enough. I would also suggest to give them a Castle upgrade tech rather than instant and free upgrade, as well as alter the Healer Elephant in Feudal to look more like a Worker Elephant with little armour on top, to help differentiate these stages.

This unit is so broken. Tired of ppl abusing it ranked Matchmaking - and if you are - shame on you! Should cost double the resources or have to pay for upgrades. It’s a mobile, tanky, unit that heals itself and allies around it while you have to focus all your fire on it… so broken
