Nerf Japans New Moon already

It’s been a few months since Japan was added to the game, and Tsukuyomi’s New Moon still hasn’t seen any meaningful adjustment.

New Moon clearly needs to be capped or scaled to resources. When you compare it to something like Vault of Erebus, it’s on a completely different power level.

New Moon effectively grants a Hades-style passive with free Ballistics, but then goes much further: once armor upgrades are researched, it converts that investment directly into immediate economic value. In practice, this results in roughly 1900 free resources on Heroic timing, alongside an instant power spike. By comparison, Hades is significantly slower and clearly disadvantaged in both tempo and value.

With armor alone, New Moon can generate ~1900 resources by around 10 minutes if applied through the Armoury. That is extreme for what is supposed to be an Archaic Age god power. Nothing else in that tier comes close—Lure doesn’t, Hunt doesn’t, and no other Archaic god power provides this kind of immediate swing.

There’s also a major tempo issue. Even Vault of Erebus, in a strong 10-minute window from when it’s researched, only provides about 1200 resources, and that’s assuming the Vault survives and is never denied. Japan, meanwhile, can hit Heroic Age and cash in instantly, with no comparable risk or counterplay. I’d happily trade Hades’s free Burning Pitch for free Bronze Armor any day—Pitch barely matters in real army fights.

The problem isn’t just raw numbers—it’s timing. New Moon compresses long-term, survivability-based value into an instant payout, while also overlapping with bonuses that are supposed to define Hades’s identity. Free Ballistics, armor conversion, instant payoff—apparently all at once.

And if you go Sacred Gate? You can effectively cash New Moon in again on another structure (Dojo, Armoury, etc.), creating yet another front-loaded resource spike instead of diminishing returns.

Overall, New Moon delivers too much value too quickly and overshadows every other Archaic god power in both economy and timing. Japan’s design leans heavily into repeated power spikes, and even if you survive the first few waves, the cumulative tempo advantage usually decides the game anyway.

I still call it a god for noobs: you can make mistakes far larger than with other gods and still win. They even gave it a special portrait and everything—for all their loving fans. Why play Greeks when you can play Tysuokomiyi. How about everyone drops Greeks and buy the DLC and everyone plays the same boring God. Even on custom games everyone picks Japan because it is truely one of the most insane army set ups you can make even against atlantians and their hero army vortexing around the map….
