New colours in tech tree for unique upgrades and regional units

Hello guys. Having somewhat high solo elo rating (~1750-1800) I love to communicate with lower elo players to help them or to answer their questions. And a lot of people are mixing unique units and unique upgrades. The questions like “does Winged Hussar take a bonus damage from the Samurai” I hear rather often, and I can understand why new players can ask such things.

Another topic is plenty of “regional units” that were added with a lot of different DLCs. A lot of new players can’t understand, what is regional unit and what is the difference between common, unique and regional units.

I heard that the best way not to mix them is just accept and memorize it. For me, it’s better to UNDERSTAND the various groups of units and for this I decided to colour “regional units” like Eagle Warriors, Steppe Lancers, Camel Riders, Battle Elephants… and “unique upgrades” like Winged Hussars for Poles and Lithuanians of Hindustani Imperial Camel Rider in different colours to make them more distinguished.
Here are my samples of how I see new colours in tech tree for regional units and unique upgrades:

What do you think?

Eagles are definitely regional, never understood why they’re marked as common. Camels however? And to a degree paladins too now that Persians lost them.
Steppe lancers, battle, archer and siege elephants should be considered regional too.

I also think that regional units should not be visible on all tech trees, only on the individual civilization tech trees. This signifies that they are something special that’s available extra, while crossing them out on normal civs outside that region is misleading and causes one to believe that they are missing something fundamental. I think Camel Riders are common enough that they should not be considered regional units, and would be present on all tech trees (which is how the mockup is).

The question would be what is the proper definition of a regional unit or unit line.Is the camel line regional or is it a generic unit now.If a future none american civi gets the eagle line does it take them out of being a regional unit.

Cumans are a bit more of an outlier than Persians were imo

Cumans and Huns for sure although for cumans you could argue they settled in Hungary at a certain point and may have used heavy cavalry. Huns however? They mostly represent the ones who settled in Europe in late antiquity and training paladins while having no steppe lancers is so silly.
The game still has an highly European tech tree but eventually paladins will become a regional unit once there will be regional skins and Europe will be just a region among others.
