As I’ve said repeatedly this would be the date and now is,
But what happened to the usual pre order discount they used to give? Is that an Activision policy?

I was actually just about to write exactly this. What’s the point of pre-ordering without a discount? Is it going to sell out or something? ![]()
Not to mention the lack of regional pricing.
Why what’s the price elsewhere
Looking at the SteamDB page for the DLC, the regional pricing is very minimal compared to past DLCs. There’s only a difference of around $2, or at most $5, between the US/EU and other regions with different economies.
Also, looking at the official Discord, there’s been a small discussion involving the senior community manager, and it looks like no pre-order discount was intended this time, unlike in the past.
They say the feedback regarding the lack of a pre-order discount and regional pricing has been forwarded, but I doubt there will be any major changes now since some people have already pre-ordered. At this point, introducing a discount could lead to refunds or even more complaints.
I’m not planning to buy it either until it goes on sale.
Same here, I’m a single player person and yes the crucible has a few new things but not enough to justify £14.99
