with this sick and brand new elite version model, the throwing axeman should get some love in my opinion. They feel pretty lackluster statwise. The Gbeto outshine those axe boys in multiple categories

in my opinion the axeman could use some extra armor to make up for the slow speed. they look beefy after all.
7/8 attack and 3/4 +1 range form UT seems also terribly weak.
Start by simply removing Bearded Axe, giving the +1 range to both standard and elite Throwing Axeman, replace the castle UT by something like Knights of the Round of the Table: Fallen Knights return 25% of their gold cost.
Also, Gbetos currently need a nerf, I would reduce their speed from 1.25 to 1.2.
another thing to mention is the upcoming buffs to the militia-line. do you ever want to make throwing axe man over fully upgraded champions as franks?
It depends, Throwing Axeman is actually a good counter to militia line. So if militai line will be used more, we may see even more Axemen
The axeman’s range means it scales better with numbers than the militia line, as only the first row can attack while the others wait. Using champions as a meat shield is also an option. And its range also is great to attack enemies through walls.
So it’s less affected by the main infantry problem which is having neither the speed of the cavalry nor range. I think the main reason why infantry was very weak is the original balance (back in AOK…) was for 75 pops, not 200, thus causing scaling problems.
