- It would be incredible to introduce Lord of the Rings civilizations, myth units like Mordor, and factions like Gondor or Dwarves into Age of Mythology, alongside heroes such as Legolas, Aragorn, and Elrond, especially given the high player demand seen for similar LOTR mods in Bannerlord 2.
2)New DLC featuring unique faction mechanics, such as Norse-style moving ox carts or Atlantean-style villagers, should be released quickly to enhance player enjoyment.
Could be fun, but there are licensing issues with something like that.
Also, LotR is not Mythology. It’s Fantasy.
Fantasy borrows a lot from Mythology. But that doesn’t make Fantasy and Mythology identical.
The modern equivalent of ancient mythology wouldn’t be fantasy, but rather something that many people think is real, but might not be. Such as, for example, Bigfoot.
(And now I’m imagining a modern AoM pantheon, with US marines as human soldiers, Abrams tanks as siege weapons, bigfoot and grey aliens as myth units, nukes as god powers… Please don’t make that a DLC)
I really don’t get at all the appeal of these sort of suggestions… Like you have BFME
I wish we could get a BFME2 Definitive Edition. Sadly rights issues mean it can never happen.
There are a lot of actual real world mythologies people want to see in the game, so they would get very upset if they got a fantasy “pantheon” instead.
Also a DLC like that would likely be impossible for legal reasons. The owners of the LotR license would never allow this DLC.
