Should happen today, Friday.

Probably. VG and Jomsvikings are both described as anti-building infantry.

Hopefully.

The Varangians are out!

A very original wonder concept. I wonder what the next DLC will have . . .

Looks like Longships might actually have a portage ability.

They also have super strong economy bonuses – lots of gold. At least they don’t get Paladins; they would be unstoppable with them.

If it’s Balkana, middle east or Africa, there are enough buildings for a classic wonder.

If it’s north America it will be creative.

I’m not seeing a lot of mercenaries in that tech tree . . . maybe it means flexibility minus the mercenaries?

Least interesting civ among the 3. Seems like also be the weakest one in land maps but maybe the strongest on in water maps. Probably depends on Dark Age gold bonus a bit too much.

I mean if you can get the eco for early bloodlines that is a disgusting 75 HP scout cav

Funnily enough, even Oceania civs would have material for specific real-world Wonders: the Polynesians would have Ahu Tongariki on Easter Island, the Micronesians would have a reconstructed Nan Dowas Temple on Nan Madol, and the Melanesians would have Bau Island Cannibal Temple on Fiji. It’s really not that hard to find specific Wonders for even primitive civs (unless you’re the Tupi or Mapuche, who were evidently less advanced than Pacific Islanders).

What the … That’s kind of dark. But on the other hand we have bloody Aztec pyramids.

Edit: just read about the humans sacrifice related to the varangian wonder…

Man I’m glad Christianity replaced human sacrifice and cannibal religions

The numerical value indeed sounds strong. But without food bonus, they have to rely on market to get early Bloodline with 10 more HP which may result in falling behind in Castle Age timing. I’ll say archer opening with market usage should be the play to have a good Castle timing. Then research Bloodline on your way to Castle and start raiding with 130 HP knight.

Mapuche built artificial mounds, which their wonder is probably supposed to represent. Tupis are the odd one out.

You do know Christians also killed, right? Including innocent people. I really hope you’re not suggesting otherwise.

I know, as all people have. At least there are no regular killing Rituals.

Norse funerary ship, potentially based on the Gokstad ship, with several stone slabs atop the mound in semi-circular line that evokes the idea of Stone ship burial method.

It’s quite unique, although I do prefer buildings when possible.

its based on a funeral described by the Arab diplomat Ibn Fadlan. It was along the banks of the Volga River, close to the city of Bolgar in 922. They sacrificed horses, dogs, cattle and chicken around it and one woman too. Slave sacrifice was common, so that the slaves could serve their master in the next life. At the end it was all burned down. so, destroying the wonder is kind of part of its design

It means the description was written by a chatbot.

I hope that at the very least the in-game history sections are human-written.
