Here are some of my ideas for new godpowers. Feel free to use them in any form you like. Feedback is also welcome.
Godpowers inspired by the celts:
I already shared these ideas in another discussion and didn’t wanna type it out again.
Godpowers inspired by the babylonians:
Archaic age:
Rat infestation: Used on houses, towncenters or drop off sites this godpower slowly ships away at the food resources of your enemy for 15 secounds. Food lost per secound: archaic-7 classical-12 heroic-18 mythic-25
Sand of time: A little sandstorm reveals a ruin at the desiered location. If the player destroys it he either gets gold, wood, favour or a random myth unit from the age he’s in. With every age the reward gets bigger but the hitpoints also increase.
Undying: Select a human unit to receive undying. Just like the heroes from the campaigns this godpowers allows the selected unit to be revieved when allied troops are near.
Classical age:
Blackmarket: Turn your marketplace into a blackmarket. The blackmarket has better deals, passive gold income and the opportunity to sell relics for a lot of gold. Caravans are borrowed from other pantheons though, meaning they’re only 70% as fast as your own caravans.
Rusty weapons: Weakens enemy damage output by 15% for 20 secounds.
Mimik: A fake goldpile. Your own villagers can pretend to farm it but if enemy villagers reduce the pile by a 100 hitpoints (no gold gained) it rises from the earth and attacks the villagers. The mimik has 500 hitpoints and does reward 150 gold if beaten.
Heroic age:
Divine mirror: Can copy a small amount of troops or a building. The copy is mirrored.
Dark crypt: Spawns a crypt were you can recruit myth units for less favour but more resources.
Mirage: Select troops to be copied. The copy will appear transparent to you but not to the enemy. These troops will only have one hitpoint and will only deal one damage. They cannot be slain by ranged attacks. This godpower aims to trick the enemy to believing he’s being attacked.
Mythical age:
True nightmare: The earth cracks and a giant crater is formed. From this crater giant tentacles rise, attacking enemy units, destroying buildings and when they retrieve each tentacle takes a unit with it back underground.
Sandstorm: A mighty sandstorm sweeps over the battlefield, dealing great damage.
Gasexplotion: Small tears apear on the battlefield, leaking gas. The gas accumulates on the battlefield, dealing only a bit of damage. You better hope noone lights a match, because if that happens an explotion will tear everything to shreads.
Godpowers inspired by the “yorubians” (i really hope that’s right):
Archaic age:
Crystallisation: Gives the selected building a diamond cover, making it nearly indestructable.
Eagle eyes: Select a towncenter from where to start and a direction to head out on. An Eagle will fly from that towncenter in a straight line to the edge of the map, revealing everything he flies over. He cannot be shot down.
Mark of death: This godpower is cast on a small number of enemy units. These units will be marked with the symbol of death. Units with that mark cannot regenarate health nor can be healed by any means.
Classical age:
Shangos axe: Shango throws his axe down to earth, dealing damage on impact and staying where it landed. Until broken the axe will attract lightning bolts, which deal further damage to enemy units.
Poisonous weapons: Your weapons get covered in poison, dealing a small amount of damage over 20 seconds.
Knowledge of ancestors: Every second villager will get a ghostly assistant, making the work go 33% more efficient.
Heroic age:
Sinister laughter: Spawns eight hyenas around a random towncenter. They attack villagers first, military second and buildings third. (It’s like a mini fimbulwinter)
Giant vulture: A giant vulture will circle an area. If more then five units die in that area he will come crashing down, dealing devestating damage.
Voodoo doll: Select a unit to curse and a place to put a lifesized doll of that unit. The doll will have 3000 hitpoints. For every hitpoint the doll loses such an unit recieves the damage as well. One doll could eliminate a couple units this way, the player chooses if he wants more weaker units gone or a couple stronger units. (3000 hitpoints might be to much though, that’s up for debate)
Mythical age:
Time displacement: Spawns a big hourglas which can hold up to 50 units. The hourglas will disappear after a short time but the units remain. When the godpower is cast again the hourglas reappears and breaks, spawning the garrisoned units again.
Sunbeam: The sun becomes a massive laser, burning your enemies.
Flying mountain: A big chunk of earth rises from the ground and gets launched at your foes, making them regret they were ever born.
