What they’ve improved in this PUP has nothing to do with the differences in the trailer you’re referring to.
Yes, they’ve made the game look better. But they’ve done it by keeping what they want the game to look like, without going back to whatever people see in that trailer.
I never said that i hope Age of Empires IV eclipses Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition. I made a prediction that it will happen (you can agree or disagree with that prediction).
I never said/implied anything about competition between these two games.
The reason i made this post is because quite a few people come here on a weekly basis and bash the game. I am not referring to the people that provide constructive criticism but to the haters that just bash. Most of these haters happen to be Age of Empires II players. It seems like they are personally invested in the failure of Age of Empires IV.
Age of Empires IV players don’t give a damn about Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition and its success or not. It’s a game they will never play (for many reasons).
Does anyone else think they should include details with blood? that at least have the option to activate or deactivate for players who do not want to see it?
you cannot simply compare a free game sale with a patch, a free game sale means everyone can try it OUT FOR FREE, a patch ONLY hypes up those who are still playing or have the GAME, its not comparable LMFAO
yup because aoe 4 success depend on playernumber and patch didnt rise up as those days. They are comparabla because aoe 4 is mostly a live service game.
cos those days were free lul, more people could try it, even if its service live game you cannot compare it becuase comparing a patch vs free sale is like comparing apples to tomatoes.
you re right there were more ppl but also more ppl that wanted to stay after trying so there was an potential increase which dragg old player to play as there more ppl to play specially on team format. yeah its like apple vs tomatoes but we are analysing the tax behind fruit which applies both items but you consider tomatoes as veggies (like irl)
the point is, its not comparable. Yes its true more people wanted to stay after because they tried it but when a patch is released only players who already have the game can TRY it.
Always makes me laugh when people try and claim a game with no microtransactions and an upfront cost is a “live service game”.
People might think it’ll do better as an F2P “freemium” experience, sure. But the game as-is isn’t a live service game. The seasons have had, to date, only cosmetics to unlock (and even then, all for the player profile and barely anything ingame).
It’s especially funny when the folks pushing this “live service” definition are only doing so so they criticise the game for not living up to a standard they’ve made up
Did anyone make an fps/performance comparison related to these graphical upgrades? I know optimization always has been problematic in aoe4, with a medium rig I have severe fps drops (100->50) when hovering over the terrain, hopefully, these will be addressed in future patches (Copium).
Personally, I don’t care about graphics that much. I never complained in the past and I did not really notice what the difference was so I decided to take some screenshots and compare the PUP to the live Season 4.
