New surprise DLC on 25th anniversary?

I’d say take this topic elsewhere…but we don’t really have anything else to talk about on the actual DLC…

Well I am looking forward to it and hoping it is a dlc based on Sinosphere as it is what is currently in most urgent interest of most I think.

Yes we all now that Central Asia was scarcely populated but Asia still had like 4 times the population of Europe.

Sinosphere, India and Southeast Asia representation are so much poorer than the representation of Europe. Honestly like 15-20 civs combined from those regions should come first before new European civs because they were more influental.

even european dlc civ is better than nothing now

Very bad marketing. The game looks abandoned for months and this will cause bad reputation for the game to the majority of players…

Not in the timeframe of the game.

We agree to disagree.

Right now I am feeling confident about a proper DLC resembling the earlier ones being released within roughly of a month in celebration of the 5 year anniversary of DE.

Am i the only one who wouldn’t care which area the next DLC would cover?11

I mean i would also prefer some other area than europe for a change but there is no way i wouldn’t buy a DLC because it’s European again…but maybe it’s because i’m not into history as much as others here. I was surprised to see how many people know so much about all these civs.

Good gameplay>>>>>>>area

For me at least.

I also desperately hope for a new difficulty. It would be one of my aoe dreams if they added a new difficulty(harder) to every campaign…

I feel like if they added a new difficulty and make some kind of ladder who finishes every campaign on this difficulty first, they could give this game a big hype again…or at least a steam achievement.

I think there are many players who would grind the campaigns again

Very true.

I heard there was an E-sports tournaments named Red Bull El Reinado that concluded yesterday. It featured this game and it got highest viewership in the history of this game. Doesn’t sound like abandoned.

But very very bad marketing decision, indeed. Why not just make an announcement of announcement at least.

So you want 15-20 more civs that will use most of the units based on European warfare. Moreover, it is not quantity that counts, but quality. It is also doubtful that it would gain so much popularity.

Were any Indian or SEA countries more influential than European countries? Certainly in their regions but definitely not on a global scale. By the way, if they were really powerful, they would not have succumbed to the Europeans in later centuries. Millions were defeated by a few.

“Europeans” didn’t really leave Europe until the 15th century while Indian and SEA countries were actively building the Indian Ocean trade. So yeah SEA and SA countries were more influental in a global scale via trade.

European countries have more quality in the game based on what??

Again based on what? Have you researched the market to support your statement? Just saying Dynasties of India is better received than Lords of the West and Mountain Royals.

I am. Oceania civs would be really cool.

Do pups come out on specific week day like patches?

Its strange that there are no puzzles or hints on social media.

I have a simiral question. Is this november PUP indeed related to the new DLC?

yes. the pup_nov branch contains depots related to the un-named app, DLC 5.

What if there are 5 new civs with campaigns and also campaigns for Koreans/Japanese/Chinese?

At this point it is pretty obvious its a Sinosphere DLC (ccam) and is releasing in November.

Which civs can we expect? Many have speculated in some rework of Chinese, and added civs Khitans, Tibetans, Jurchens, Siamese. I don’t know without looking it up which the dominant group of the phillipines were, I know many have requested the Javanese as well.

Would not fit in Sinosphere focus DLC.

Ah, gotcha. I didn’t catch that particular detail. Thanks for pointing that out.

Fair enough. I’m still just bummed that they don’t add more to RoR… I actually enjoyed the new campaigns they made for the dlc, and was hoping they’d do the same for the rest of the civs at least.

They were, to some degree. I’m not saying they wouldn’t fit, but the Middle Ages were the downfall of the independent Mon Kingdoms. By the end of the AoE2 timeframe, all of the kingdoms had been conquered by invaders and neighbors and the Mon people scattered throughout SEA and abroad. What I was meaning was that the AoE1 timeframe was really the height of their civilization, and might be better represented there. I’d take them either way, it was only my personal opinion.

The only empires I’m aware of in the area were Tu’i Tonga and a brief Melanesian one that I can’t remember the name of… Maybe you could justify the Maori? They weren’t united to my knowledge though, just scattered into tribes.

Yeah, that’s the crux, isn’t it… Well, whatever the updates mean, hopefully it’s good.

That would be the best DLC ever and worthy for a 25th anniversary
