Horus’ Ancestral Protection is the most ass World Twist by far and it’s not even close. Whether it’s the enemy units respawning or your own it’s not fun either way, just a huge annoyance.
The enemy units respawning means you basically have to camp their corpses. Like if an enemy army dies in your base you can’t move out immediately for a counterattack because you need to camp every last dead body, wait for them to resurrect (which takes too damn long btw), and then kill them AGAIN.
Then you’d think your own units resurrecting would be awesome, yeah? WRONG. Respawning with reduced hit points doesn’t change the tide of battle at all…so if you were gunna win with an army, you’re gunna win, if you were gunna lose with an army, you still lose but you just watch your army slowly resurrect and get killed off again.
I think the way to save the World Twist would be making the resurrection much faster. I mean like 5 seconds later. As it stands now the resurrection takes wayyyy too long (maybe 15 seconds?) for those units to really come up and rejoin a battle effectively, they essentially will come up one by one surrounded by an enemy army just to be killed off again. Either that or limit the resurrection effect solely to Myth units or something because killing every last unit twice is just exhausting.
OR just delete it altogether and think of a World Twist that doesn’t absolutely suck.

This game has had many updates that don’t make sense. I hope they respect the community and abandon these absurdities.
For real! (20 characters)
This is the worst twist ever. It just feels bad playing with it.
It really needs the unit body to stay in the ground and respawn much faster. 5 seconds is very good, 10 seconds and the latest they can do without it feeling like a chore.
Worst part is how you lose that unit from your control group so you need to pick them all over again every fight.
Disagree, its one of the more fun ones, considering how it interacts with your blessings.
It heavily incentivises using ranged units, as you can so easily pick enemies off with only half hp. Play Atlanteans heroize some cheirobalistae and destroy enemies with the help Gaia’s lashing roots.
Otherwise, free win on legendary if you’re using Automata or Phoenixes, the newly created units can make two corpses, resurrect and then make two more corpses making a fibonacci growth of these myth units.
You almost always face a Set enemy who tend to go Thoth age 4, so consider worshipping Rheia for Traitor.
I don’t think it’s a coincidence, the developers definetly wants you to think like this. Hades’ viles (+HP for mitigating the half HP effect) and Hel’s last promise (Kaboom on death) is practically made for this.
In short, I think you don’t think it’s fun because you haven’t fully considered the full implications of the effect and blessings.
- Fixed a bug causing some respawning mechanics to behave in unintended ways while playing Arena of the Gods. Including mechanics affecting the Phoenix, Phoenix Egg, Fimbulwinter Wolves, Prometheans, and Ancestor Minon/Ship.
Dude, you are just abusing a bug. There is no “full implications of the effect and blessings”. This twist is total unfun.

Tested it and darn they really did took a fun aspect away from it , that really does make this twist less fun .
I genuinely thought it was fully intentional becease RAW (Rules as written) it should work like that, unit dies and later resurrects after leaves a corpse that can spawn a new one that can die twice. So it wasn’t a bug technically, it was an exploit of the game mechanics (Important difference).
And how you likely fought Set first in this twist seemed like a breadcrumb trail some developer left that has watched Spiffing Brit or similiar content.
I see singleplayer content (or Multiplayer PvE) more like a puzzle so I’m gonna do my part in this thread my way and advocate for putting the exploit back in officially or through a mod, because THAT was fun with this twist.
