No longer can switch xbox accounts on MSFT Store / Game Pass version

From the latest patch today, I can no longer switch the xbox account being used to play the game, no matter what account is logged in to the xbox app. The game defaults to whichever account purchased the game.

This is the only reason why we bought the game again on the Microsoft Store / Xbox version.

This means my children no longer have access to their respective match histories, save files, data, etc. and will need to purchase a copy - which is unacceptable, since we’d rather not play at all if that is the case.

Please fix this issue ASAP.

Yes!! having the same issue, please fix asap :frowning: I have my own mod history, etc., and need to be able to sync with my xbox account.

game is literally unplayable because of this :((

also defaulting to some random account for me, without any way to switch accounts. any fix or work around?

In the meantime I think that if you log in Steam first, when you open the game in Microsoft Store you can switch to another account

Are you saying I need to install the steam version as well alongside with the Microsoft store version, or just have steam installed??

Just try to open the game in two different platforms or PC, maybe that prompts a window and you are allowed to change your account

the way i got around it for the first age of empires is by going to task manager and end task on gaming services and anything xbox related. then i would open the xbox app again (it might default to a account that you dont want so just switch) and it worked for me.
