The brown Legionário uniform used by the Portuguese Musketeer is based in the Portuguese Legion that served under Napoleon’s France, formed after the 1st French invasion of Portugal. It’s odd that the choice for the Portuguese Royal Guard is entirely based on a force created by their occupiers instead of the actual Royal Guards existing in Portugal at the time.

You could make mod for it but only for single player, possibly custom games. For multiplayer you need player colors. Also I doubt anyone wants assigned colors to civs. IMO having player colors is much more readable, also making every civs units look different because you don’t have player colors and they have to distinguishable would make it very confusing for newer players and people who don’t play all the time.
