I bought the Microsoft platform of the game. Is the the Steam platform on a different server with more people? I bought it on Microsoft because it was on sale for $10, may have made a mistake

Hi @Jeddsworth, The Microsoft Store and Steam versions support crossplay, so as long as crossplay is enabled in game settings you should be able to play with others regardless of the platform.

In Multiplayer option, make sure you select Lobby Browser, thats where most players play now a days, there are always a few rooms available.
Quickmatch is barely used currently.
Yeah VERY few players playing. I bought AOEII today since it was on sale. I guess ill just beat the campaign in AOE:DE. Thankfully only paid Ten BuckarooS.
