in my desperation I created an account here to push my issue:
Since shortly before the new DLC (Dynasties of the East), devs added two new maps to the nomad map pool. Both of which are not randomly generated. In my humble opinion this sucks out a lot of fun of the mode. Sure 8 player ffa can always be madness, but spawning on a map I know, where I know the markets, ressource distribution, most likely enemy TC’s, …that’s just not the mode I loved to play. Also it highly influences civ picks. Since the two new maps were added I basically stopped playing altogether. Before that I put over 600 hours into aoe4. That’s hundreds of nomad ffa rounds. Not anymore.
If I get a discussion started I am happy to elaborate further. For now I just want to adress this (personal) pain. I would love to play nomad ffa again so much. As long as these maps are in the pool and there is no official way to dodge them I will continue to play other games.
