Another glorious defeat for the Patriots! And another fort lost… Those damned redcoats showered us with mortar fire for days until we finally surrendered. This one must be the third major defeat this October.
On a lighter note, we got a good laugh from our native guide. As we retreated, he started screaming like a madman, claiming he had just seen the ghosts of our fallen comrades lining up ranks, ready to haunt those cowards who failed their duty to stop the redcoats. Ha! Frankly, I think we should stop giving that daily ration of whisky to our injuns…
