Oklahoma Black Mesa broken... and not worth it?

The Oklahoma Black Mesa card says it sends 5 gunslingers, a coal wagon, and allows gunslingers to gather coin from Mines. In reality, you pay 1000 wood and only get a coal mine wagon. It does not send any gunslingers, and gunslingers cannot mine coin.

Obviously, this needs to be patched, but I feel like it could also be improved. I’m no RTS game balancing expert, but Age 4 cards should have an equivalent value of 1,600 resources. This card gives you 2000 coin in a coal mine and 425 coin in gunslingers, but costs 1000 wood. Wood is more valuable than coin as it’s harder to gather, so I assign it a value of 1.25 wood / coin equivalent. So this card gives 2425 coin - 1.25 * 1000 wood = 1175 resource equivalent. 1175 is less than 1600. Also, with the pop cost of gunslingers this is going to quickly house you late game. To fix this, I would love to have this card keep the wood price, but also decrease gunslinger pop cost by 1. Paired with Dance Halls, this would allow for 1 pop cost gunslingers, which is a lot like many of the Revolutions give access to (Latin American Comanchero, Hungary / Romania Renegado) which US cannot access since they cannot revolt. I would love to see this 1 pop late game outlaw option for US.

TLDR; The card only send a coal wagon with no other effects, and I think also making gunslingers cost 1 less pop would make it balanced and give US a low pop outlaw late game option like revolutions do.

Do just as the description says. Should not just give a coal wagon, but also 6 gunslingers and allow them to mine all coin mine types.

Hi @GoyoIceCream133 thank you for your report, we’re currently already tracking this card not working as intended :slight_smile:

I fixed this card in a mod today, the devs enable the action for, and ship the unit icon instead of shipping the original unit itself. In its current state you’re essentially paying 1k wood and a shipment for 2k coin, which is I guess something but… well, I wanted my miner gunslingers!! Lol. :smiley:

Ok, I found this bug too, I’m glad the problem is in the dev’s scope.
It was working in June, because I did focus on deck on outlaw and mercenaries back in the day and I used them in treaty to get more coin with army.

Sadly not very powerful at the end of the day, espacially the building limit of saloon of 3…Of course now it’s even worst without these greedy miners. I hope for a fix soon !

Bug has been fixed as of the patch that released a few hours ago!

Right. I do still wish it would be buffed but it’s good it’s working. Maybe in the coming United States updates.
