Personally, I think that when it comes to new factions in the game, the developers should add Native American Civs now and then Africans and Asians. Each of these continents has the potential for more DLC. In addition to those nations, Devs can also release content for Europe in the future. I mean, apart from “British isles nations rework” and “Germany states rework”, “Slavs to Rus rework”, “Scandinavian rework” also new factions to Europe like Balkan Dlc ( Serbians , Croatians , Vlachs) , Switzerland & Austria Dlc and maybe Old Prussians. They were tribe among the Baltic peoples that inhabited the region of Prussia. Conquered by the Teutonic Order, they disappeared into the mysteries of history. However, there are still sources about that people and events related to them. Maybe it’s worth considering them as a nation to play in the future, where the campaign (Main hero should be Old Prussians leader Herkus Monte) would end with the fall of the entire nation?
That’s why I called the topic “Idea” not “Concept”, because I did not give a specific plan for this civilization in the game, but the idea itself for discussion. If someone like the idea itself, he can create a more detailed concept.
Interesting topic as a historical curiosity, for sure, but why would we add an European civ that is so mysterious and obscure when actual influential and important civs from the rest of the world are yet to be added? Hell, even some European civs would be more relevant
I wrote that it was an idea for the future. Now it’s time for factions from other continents, especially Native America and Asia (esspecialy Tibet). Old Prusians is a proposal to be developed, prepared and implemented in a few years, possibly.
Yes, it may be… but I doubt that FE will go that far back in time… you have the Teutons (who were their successor state) and the Lithuanians (who were allies of the Prussians); old Prussians I don’t think we will see…Prussians per se in AoE 3 is another story…
Jadwiga campaign The Fruits of Her Labor has prussia as teutons.Pagan villages in the lithuanian campaign can also be changed to prussians if they are an umbrella for pagan balts.
Oh you’re right, well in that case they could enter, although I think that for me they would go for a Germanic dlc of Swiss, Bavarians and Saxons… and Prussians and Austrians leave them for AoE 3 (which was where they achieved their predominance among the kingdoms of the HRE)…
Adding Prusakai (their real name) makes no sense. I live near Prussia and there are no traces of them - apart from something like agritourism inspired by the Galindia people XDDD - but it is a modern tourist attraction.
The Lithuanians civ are more than enough to represent all the Balts peoples.
As much as I agree that an old Prussians civ is low enough priority it probably shouldn’t be implemented, there being no trace of them left isn’t a great argument for why to discount them; Cumans exist in game and they’ve been thoroughly assimilated/wiped out for a long time as well.
As for the issue of adding this faction, maybe Devs will consider adding it once other European nations are in the game and Old Prussians may be included as Flc with one of many potential DLC with Asian or African nations in far future.
This is only suggestion. But Devs said that they listen the players. Maybe they will consider this as good beacuse AOE 2 still have a long future with Dlc and updates.
