I am helping out a friend here and we both went thru the game won’t launch checklist on here. We came across some detail that having a mod to mod the steam UI to the old version. Can cause the game to not work? Is that possible? He claims it takes a lot of work to reinstall it but wanted to see if anyone had any info on this? He said his log is throwing an error for failed 2D texture. related?

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Launch game
  2. start a skirmish
  3. Game Crashes with no pop up

Yes, mods can cause that. Try to disable all mods and restart the game.
