  • OPERATING SYSTEM: Windows 11

:arrow_forward: ISSUE EXPERIENCED

If you are not connected to the Internet, and you open up Steam, and you try to open Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition, the game does NOT open. The issue persists even if you set Steam to “Offline Mode”. The issue persists even after verifying the integrity of the files.

100% of the time (ALWAYS)

:arrow_forward: REPRODUCTION STEPS

Here are the steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Have your computer disconnected from the Internet
  2. Open up Steam
  3. Optional: Set Steam to Offline Mode
  4. Try to open up Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition
  5. The game never opens

:arrow_forward: EXPECTED RESULT

The game should open even when the computer is without Internet, and I should be able to play single-player content offline.

Any progress nearly a month later?

Still happening as of today (13.1.). I don’t always have internet on my pc so I can’t play.
