Constant spearman flow with the armor debuff allows the xbows to shred everything that yeoman cant. Forget earls, forget everything you know. 20 xbows and the games over, from that point simply spam spearman yeoman and A-move to enemy base, there is nothing else as powerful of a steamroll AFAIK - If you run into counterplay - such as mass springals or something, just double spearman production and sandwich from two sides, dont overthink it. The map will run out of trees before the opponent ever touches your base.
If you have good apm throw extra wood into walls, make multiple layers for the xbows to retreat behind. Once maxed theres no reason not to be wall spamming. Again the map will run out of wood before you are pushed back and the game will end.
Well theres nothing that can actually touch the xbows if this is done properly, and even if there is, wood float can be avoided by walling like crazy and so when the horsemen come out and somehow manage to magically overpower the spearman, the xbows can just run behind wall. Keep a small band of villagers with them and theyll never die
You can say this about every unit composition though. I can say spear and archer is the most OP thing ever because the cavalry can’t kill the archers because of the spears. At the end of the day what decides a fight is the right amount of units, and micro.
If you struggle vs spearmen and xbow/archer then make some man at arms to be a meatshield and several mangonels. The MAA will stop the spearmen rushing down the mangonels and they will rip through the ranged units whether they go behind a wall or not.
