Is anyone interested in having the ability to toggle chatting with your opponent off/on?

Something that I’ve noticed is that communicating with my opponent has virtually 0 value. The only time I can think of it being useful is explaining why I need to pause… and the 4 times I’ve needed to pause for something I get ignored anyways. FFAs are a different story entirely, thinking more of 1v1 or team games.

What I do see it used for is a salty opponent spamming taunts. I’ve had a standard practice of muting poor sports afterwards, but it’s honestly just busy work. We can’t mute players while in a match, something that I think the developers should have addressed years ago, so can we just have the ability to turn off all chat while in a game?

The post match chat loses the [ALL] and [TEAM] tags anyways, and that’s pretty much the only time I think it’s worth taking time to have a chat. For all the unpleasant experiences I’ve had with other players the good ones where we talk about what happened post match are worth it.

The last party of teammate, I played against a terrible person who was very proud of defeating one of my noob allies, so much so that he spent the entire game in chat verbally harassing him, and this was quite annoying, taking up a quarter of the screen in a disgusting SPAM chat. Insulting is not going to make you advance in ranked or make the game speed up more, worse that these types of people just ruin what a game is.

I have reported these types of players before, but it doesn’t seem to help much.

If one could mute these types of people, of course I support it.
