Out of Sync for Custom Scenario Multiplayer Games

When starting a custom multiplayer scenario the game shows waiting for players and then crashes to the main menu with an out of sync error.

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Host a custom multiplayer scenario on the game browser.
  2. Wait for all players to ready up. The game begins.
  3. The map appears to start loading with a message in the center of the screen saying the game is waiting for other players.
  4. After a few moments the game crashes to the main menu with an out of sync error displayed.

I expected to be able to host and play custom multiplayer scenarios to completion.

The multiplayer game ended before it began.

I have same problem. No any scenario does not start in Multiplayer

Yes! Same here. 100% OOS with scenarios.

I have exactly the same issue and I can’t find a fix anywhere. Normal Multiplayer works fine but I get this error for every scenarion I try to launch.

Do you try ones created in DE, or just taken from Legacy?

Personally, it happens regardless if I try to launch a community designed scenario downloaded from a forum (some at least were from legacy) or one of my own.

I have been successful playing AOE3 DE in single player on my M1 MacBook via Parallels using windows 10, however when a multiplayer game loads up it states “Out of Sync” and immediately exits to the main menu. This happens if I join or host a multiplayer game.

Any advice on fixing this issue would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
