Outcome beta survey

When will we get an overview of the beta survey for AoE 4? Spent about 20-30 minutes answering all questions, hence would love to see some outcome and what will be done with this data.

Why didn’t I get the beta questionnaire email?

If the email address you’ve given is right, you should’ve got it - it probably landed in a SPAM folder. Also, it was possible to access the closed beta survey via the in-game survey button link in the main menu.

Yep still waiting for a response, I too spent around 30 minutes writing my response. They promised us a review about the state of the game, but heard nothing since.

Since they have not decided to postpone the game I suspect the survey result will be hidden permanetely.

From where do you know we’re supposed to get on overview of how people voted? I think it’s only for devs since it contains a lot of information we’re not supposed to talk

Did you check the SPAM folder? And it’s already over anyway, it was supposed to be sent by 19th of august.

It takes a lot longer than a few business days for them to crunch through all of those responses, quantify the written feedback, put together internal reports, decide what feedback to act on and how, implement it, and write a report for players to review. Plus god knows what other steps.

I’ve seen an awful lot of magical thinking regarding the amount of large changes players expect in the next two months. They’ve been making this game for four years. This stuff takes time holy.

They promised to provide an update on developments and a review about the ‘state of the game’

This happens in every game and every where. They dont think, they just want there stuff to be done.

But that doesn’t mean they will reveal poll results. Or? :woman_shrugging:

+1 this! :bomb:

a) I guess there’s a bunch of surveys that came back and I don’t think there is a ‘team’ dedicated to reading things like that. I guess some moderators and community managers can help with that? But it’s not like programmers are helping to sort them out and organize int feedback from that is being worked on by actual Devs
b) Survey itself had a lot of different elements. And I was kinda surprised how many forms allowed people to write it them.
It’s not just ‘pick a/b/c/d’, ‘rate 1-6’.

I expect to see INFO return feedback from Devs on the survey by the time 2nd beta hits, but I won’t be surprised if majority of requests from the forums isn’t in the game (shipping in two months!!! It’s probably already on DVDs, main code that is) when 1.0 hits.
Excluding you know- zoom, color picker, some GUI adjustments etc. things in day0/1 patch.

Things like model/texture improvements take work of many groups and TIME. It’s not a texture pack for Minecraft, people.

Not defending anyone just sayin’ it’s not as simple as flipping the switch. Before working on it they have to talk about it and decide and meetings take time
And by default majority of the feedback will be dismissed, by nature. People contradict each other.
Some give 3/10, some give 8/10. Some love simplicity, some think it looks like a mobile game. So there will be a lot of bitchin’ around release.

And people saying stupid stuff about ‘angry community’ and ‘forums full of disappointed people ’
(because game didn’t do 180’ into 5 different directions)
For every person saying they love it you’ll have someone sure that it ruined his childhood.

I doubt that they are going to share the results of the survey. Since it is only for the development team

Understandable! That’s why a lot of people asked for the game to be delayed, in order to take more time for realistic changes in regards to graphics and animations. There are many great things about this game, yet the presentation doesn’t match.

i didn’t receive it either

I swear I took a freaking hour finishing that survey!

I don’t think they will share the results anyways…

They said they would. This was one of the longest surveys I ever filled, hence very interesting to at least get a summary and action points.
