they most certainly did not want to convert the populace, they did everything they could to ensure they would not convert. the Umayyads did not tax Muslims, and by converting the populace it would lose its tax revenue. the restrictions put on non-Arab converts was the main reason the Persians and Muslim Missionaries, as well as many others supported the Abbasids in such large numbers.
if the Umayyads where pro conversion the Abbasids would never had a chance to gain power. by the end of the Umayyads 100 year rule over 90% of Persia where not Muslim. you would be rewriting history to say they wanted to convert all of Persia to Islam.
Umayyads correct but Abbasids no, Umayyads were racist toward persians but Abbasids feared Persia’s Culture and I told you Babak khorramdin which is one of the most famous people known in our history rebelled against them cause people didnt like Islam and their culture.
sorry I know u probably cant read persian but maybe google tanslator can help you, its a little bit of problems back then and why im argueing over this topic:
Well I’m not getting this game until Persians are included, even in AOE2 refreshes which I kept getting until the last expansion, Persians were excluded from any updates and other small new civs got building designs and architectures which are actually of Persian origin, enough is enough, and yes I’m salty about it. If I had never played AOE I or 2 sure maybe I could get this game and enjoy it but given the history I honestly feel that my favorite civ is being discriminated against and I’m sure I’ll not enjoy playing this game,
I am really sad, i think Persian civilization should be part of the Age of Empire, and I hope that Microsoft and the developers of the games study a little bit more,
Persian civilization is one of the top five in history for developing the human’s culture and knowledge and …

This is again a part of the consequent de-identification of Iran from the mainstream media (almost all the media in any form) the propaganda has reached already computer games and the age of empires…to mix identities and spread smoke screen of misinformation to undermine the reality of the Iranian history language and culture is not these days something new. but to build such a game in this context and mention FRENCH and ENGLISH and not Persian Empire is like making a game of racing cars and having the option to drive cars like LADA-Moskowich Hyundai and Tata Motor and Mercedes Benz is present with the logo of PSA (Peugeot Citröen) and Ferrari is just not there…it’s a shame…it is a special type of hate to revenge from history and make such a propaganda game against historical facts!
The fact is what you do here as Microsoft is the digital form of what ISIS did in Aleppo to distruct the traces of the Persian empire and parties in Syria!
