PERSIA IS IN THE GAME

Hello guys
It’s my first post and I must say, I find a little thing in the voice lines in the trailer that really made me sad, I’m an Iranian and the first voice line you hear in the trailer is: “chabok savar amade ast” = which means the agile rider is ready, as in Iranian who is in love with history I have to say choosing camels for Iran is like having horses for India as main unit, referring to history I must say Iranians were known for their ability to ride horses not camels, I don’t want to judge or anything but if my theory is correct I’m a little disappointed with camels for Iran… btw what’s your opinion on the topic?

here is an image at the exact moment when the narrator says the line.

and here are some of the the Civ images:

and in the end I have to say I expalined whatever I could in replies, from what Ive read, what I know and reffering to our history books which are in our language, in the end my only argue is as an Iranian if they are Abbasids I think no one as an Iranian would like persian to be used for Abbasids becasue as of today most of people hate Abbasids and other Arab caliphates back there (no racism, lots of arabs live in iran but referring to history those times are hated), and even reffering to history the Abbasid Offical language was Arabic not Persian!

I do admit I know not a lot about history, but the abbasids description on the official page states " In Age of Empires IV , the Abbasid Dynasty civilization spans the years 750-1517 CE and is based on the Abbasid Caliphate and the Mamluk Sultanate."

And from what I got from age 2 (may be totally wrong though) the mamluk used camels?

its true that Persia was part of the Abbasids, and that neither the Abbasids or the Medieval Persians rode camels into combat. however I do hope that they do a separate Persian civ later down the line, and gets justice done for its unit roster. Persia did gain independence from the Abbasids eventually, and accomplished enough amazing things in the middle ages that warrant its inclusion into the game as a separate civ.

the mamelukes in aoe2 are purely based on fantasy, riding Chinese camels and throwing scimitars. the mamelukes and the Arabs in general did not ride camels into combat, only as transportation, livestock and beasts of burden.

I have to disagree with you, if they are Abbasids why are they speaking Persian as Arabs does not have the consonant “CH” and they say in trailer Chaboksavar or Agile rider, if they are Abbasids they must speak Arabic

its not disagreeing with ME. I just quoted the offical game page

ah I see, btw if AGE 4 is not that correct historically, Its not a big deal but if they are assuming its historically correct I kinda have to disagree

It is the Abbasids, not Persians, per se.

then they must speak arabic becasue the Abbasid khalifas were arabs and their armies were made of arabs not persians because persians lost the war to them

You can see civs on the page Delhi Sultanate – Age of Empires

“In Age of Empires IV , the Delhi Sultanate civilization is based on the powerful empire formed from the invasion of the Ghurid Dynasty (originating in Persia) into northern India spanning the years 879-1526 CE. For 300 years, this empire shaped an independent Indo-Islamic region, adopting technology present in India.”

The court language of the Abbasids was Farsi, and the capital was in Baghdad.

They are the most Persianized of the Caliphates.

the Persians where part of the Abbasid caliphates armies, and were a part of the caliphate in general for a long period of time. besides, its confirmed that the civ revealed are the Abbasids, not the Persians: Age IV Civilizations – Age of Empires

if they are indians its fine, becasue soltunate dehli official language was persian but if its Abbasids most of the Empire is consisted of arabs not persians IDK why they use persian as main language when an small part of the army was persians becasue iranians used to hate arabs back then and most of them wouldnt want to be with arabs becasue they slaughtered iranians back in the history

referring to our history books they khalifas were from Muhammed the Prophet bloodline (if I want to be exact his uncale) and were arabs who used to speak arabic not persian even in the court thats why lots of books written in that Age are in arabic

I’m not sure what you mean, there where no massacres of civilian populations in the conquest of Persia by the Rashidun/Umayyad armies. in fact Arabs where forbidden to live inside Persian urban centers and having unnecessary contact with the Persians, and where garrisoned away from them.

they also did not allow most Persians to convert to Islam and put restrictions to slow down conversions, leading to anger from the Persian populace, the Abbasid revolution and the removal of ethnic restrictions. the Abbasids where the most Pro Persian “foreign” government it ever had, fully adopting the Persian language and culture that the previous caliphates shunned, and allowed for intermingling and military service between all its peoples.

I hope there will be a lot of DLCs, for now we know that they are Abbasids … don’t ask how

they killed lots of civilians, because they wanted to spread islam and you’re wrong about this part, because they were afraid of iranian culture they slaughtered alot of Alavis and other civilians, then they killed alot of people who rebelled against them cause of poor situations back then 7 times and all were killed like animals and lots of other stuff like killing a lot of khurasanian people

most famous one is the revolution of Babak Khorramdins one because he was against Islam and Arabic Ideology, TBH no one wanted to become muslim in first place!
