Persian Update - What architecture are they using?

Wouldn’t ask this if it wasn’t confusing.

Persians have been heavily requested to have their architecture changed to Central Asian, as it’s what they actually had during the Middle Ages (and invented).

In the promo images, we see Ismail amidst Central Asian buildings (even lacking Fortified Walls, like Persians).

But watching Spirit of the Law’s breakdown of the Mountain Royals DLC, and the Persian update, his have Middle Eastern architecture.

Now, this might be because the Persian changes are an update and not part of the DLC itself. But I am rather concerned that this rather basic change (which is the most requested change to the civ) seems to not be happening, and has frankly put me in a sour mood about the DLC as a whole, and taken all the excitement out for me.

Is there any further info on this?

I genuinely hope they haven’t finalized the changes and Central Asian would be used upon release.

I agree. I hope the devs see this and make the switch if they haven’t already.

For reference guys, this is what Persia looks like! Blue domes and cream buildings with blue details. Like the Central Asian set. Feudal is even a perfect fit for Sassanid Persia as well too!

I was hoping for the Sogdian Cataphract become the Savar and for the Qizilbash to be light cavalry

Well since the Sogdian Cataphract used to be the Savar, I guess it wasn’t going to be from the start.

But seriously, what’s the deal with that light cavalry unit? It’s nowhere to be seen.

Small thing. Just watched Spirit of the Law playing a game with Georgians. Whenever he made Mule Carts, they appeared as Mills until he placed the foundation. I HOPE that this means that the early-access version is just incomplete…

No, he mis-clicked, which is easy enough to do. You can see them appear as themselves before placing the foundation afterward.

Dammit.

Crusade is still on then!

Huh???

20 characters.

As in, to get Persians their proper buildings.

Oh, okay. The non sequitur confused me.

Edit: Never mind. I think I understood the connection.

Heard it’s a scenario only unit like the forementioned. I do hope at least we can get the “Central Asian” architecture at least.

Scenario-only units are such a waste…

Early-access builds are different, as they cannot get the campaigns to work. So fingers crossed.

I know it might sound dramatic. But this has utterly stripped my excitement of the DLC and replaced it with panic. I place a lot of stock on coherent visuals, and the opportunity to have it fixed for my favourite civ…but then this double-backing has just ruined it for me.

There are screenshots where it looks like they are using the Indian architecture too so its pretty confusing at the moment.

Not only is the Central Asian set great for Persia it is currently only used by two civs Cumans and Tatars, Tiny compared to how many civs have Slavic and Mediterranian now.

Teutons have those templar knights so it is not a first thing.

Not dramatic. I’d also love for the unique hero skins to become skins for regular units. I would enjoy it more the meme skins they have for events.

The African building set is also tiny compared to Eastern European and Mediterranean building sets because that building set also has only two civs.

But… Wouldn’t it be a… Jihad…?

…Nevermind.

I was hoping that this DLC would add Caucasian and Nomadic Architecture Sets.

Yes, it’s also appear in AoE 3 DE as a native Sufi unit…
