Most importantly: the buttons for both are not reliable. Often you can press the button to enter into Perspective Camera or Follow Camera, and nothing will happen.

Some units work great in Perspective Camera. But others become extremely shaky. Some sideways motion might be acceptable for realism, but these units have far too much. Examples: Priests, Atalanta, Dryads.
2a. There’s probably a bit too much wobble while a unit is in combat, too. Some wobble is definitely warranted, but maybe not this much.
2b. I didn’t get this in the video, but when units are grabbed and thrown, the Perspective Camera does not do a good job of showing this. -
The viewing angle for some flying units is too high. They look directly out to the horizon, unable to see what they are actually doing. When in Perspective Camera on a flying unit like a Stymphalian bird, the camera angle should be pointed down slightly more towards the ground. At the very least, they should be able to see units they are attacking at the edge of their FOV.
Videos don’t seem to be playing for me. I dunno why not…
The videos do play 4 me. and I have the worst internet in the universe.
I completely agree with your perspective. The development team shouldn’t assume that players will be happy just because they keep adding new content. Introducing new bugs while many old ones remain unresolved is truly frustrating behavior. BUGs are like a snowball, growing larger and larger.
I mean, that’s definitely not the perspective I was trying to share here. I really like this new feature and I think it’s cool that they delivered it. I just think it needs a bit more polish. I’m trying to share a mostly positive viewpoint.
I understand your positive intentions, but I’m just complaining that every time the development team releases new features, they always come with bugs. Combined with the pile of old bugs that haven’t been resolved yet, it creates a snowballing effect.
I think it’s fun to change to the first-person view of a unit. Though for various units it’s shaking way too much to be enjoyable, there’s still room for improvement.
Now that this feature exists, I wish I was able to move around the unit with the cursor keys (or joystick). I’m thinking of custom scenarios with the feel of an (action-)adventure game.
