It does make the heavy infantry seem less cold and friendly… but who wants friendly soldiers in a rts game? No idea what was the thinking process behind this unasked for addition. I think devs don’t know it themselves either.

I can see Huskarls with horns cause they are highly reputable soldiers/guards among Norse and horns could reflect that.
But maybe a different style.
Axemen on the other hand really don’t fit horns especially if you think about the impracticability when they throw axes.
By the way there are “not cool” helmets with horns in Skyrim too. When I think of the steel armor helmet which has too much horns.
There are 2 moddels of steel helmet in skyrim.
Without horns:
And with horns.
But the horns of “steel helmet” are so different from the typical “cow horn”
