Huscarls and axemans had no horns in original game.
Say “NO” to cow horns in helmets.

if we go THAT far i want to make a petition for hydra having more heads and beginning and jormungandr beign finally the massive snake it should be.

This game doesn’t want to look realistic.
Also they weren’t removed in AoE2DE either.
What bothers me more is that they have crosses on their shields.
They are clearly not Christian, are they?

These units had not a helmet in AoM clasical.

its not a joke cause in myth hydra has already more heads and looks more snake like.which would fit your “grounded” wish of horn-less helmets… if we still want to get less “myth-accurate” than helmets also can have horns. don’t see a problem.
especifically those horns, make those units like a caricature.
They don’t look aggressive (like other horns), they’re wearing the typical cartoon horned helmet.

We have not seen Hydra yet, but in AoM clasic could be like that.

Problem is most Nordic units in legacy do not have horns.
I hope this is WIP. Right now it feels like they are over-imposing some themes onto the unit visuals.
Like the showcased hypaspists now have huge round shields and huge helmet plumes just like hoplites, making them harder to distinguish.
Every nordic infantry with horns is the same problem.
Maybe they are placeholders.

The unit is not Jormungandr. It’s a Jormund Elver. An elver is a young eel. It’s a child of Jormungandr.

okay then i have to say the following:

it STILL should be jormungandr and no small evler thingy. why? cause we have liviathan for example. also giant in lore and still a useable unit.
Christians weren´t the only that used crosses.
The crosses are one of the most repeated elements in decorations all around the world.
