Greatly disappointed by the name.

For as much sensitivity that was shown for every other civilization, this was a mistake.

Germanic bias. You have literal Romans but you only call the HRE Romans.

Actually really really disappointed in this dev team.

Love it. I’m a bit confused by the aqueduct design, though. But it’s a great decision to bring byzantines in with japanese. Really nice and fun civs.

How deeply landmarks and civilization mechanics are steeped into real history. Vizier points was about assigning ottoman ministers or viziers to handle specific duties for you or enacting laws. How yam network functioned as one of the fastest communication networks of its time through outposts, with exchanging horses to fresh ones at each site, this speeding up cavalry in game too. How rus walls were different and kremlins being wooden fortresses, walls could be fast to build and extraordinarily sturdy with premade logs with notches you build like lego and filling the rectangle box walls with dirt and earth. Thus these being better than regular palisade walls.

Didnt realize just how much attention to real life each mechanic was steeped into

this looks interesting

“Byzantine” was a term that was popularized by germans in the HRE to delegitimize the Roman Empire, because the germans viewed themselves as the true, Holy Roman Empire.

These people called themselves Romans. There is no earthly reason to call them Byzantine in a game like this.
