Can someone explain to me why the team color “red” is used in Age of Empires IV? According to Wikipedia, 9% of men are affected by red-green color blindness. So why choose red—especially on predominantly green terrain? It almost feels like players with color vision deficiency are being excluded.
Wouldn’t it make sense to let players customize their team colors? The game could offer the existing colors as selectable options. Of course, using team colors wouldn’t be mandatory, but depending on the combination, the visual distinction can become even harder for colorblind players.
In my opinion, this kind of feature would really benefit the game.
