EXPECTED RESULT
What was SUPPOSED to happen if the bug you encountered were not present?
@Felizon89 can you help pass the info along, its likely the game uses some sort of window library and the windows update changes them causing massive amount of desync in recent games.
reinstall windows stopped the issue so could be:
fresh install with and then update, without old library/files wont have such a problem
or player just disabled auto update as we asked them to hence doesn’t have the latest update
it seems crazy that this game is a MS product but would be easily broken by a windows udpate
re-install window. also if there are other players who have similar issue as you they need to do the same as well otherwise it wont matter much.
this should be something that needs to be addressed by the dev. its impractical to have everybody re-install windows. they have to somehow know they are first affected by it and most wont know, 2nd they’d have to be willing to re-install or know how to re-install.
unfortunately I don’t. player has already re-installed everything but did mention they did try to reverse the update and then download the update manually (assuming the KB they downloaded?)
but its very recent, within this last week so maybe the update number can be searched? not sure how to do with that with MS tho surely they have a tool like that
the affected player just told me its windows 11 23H2 if that does anything. but unsure of which update that caused this prob multiple updates in it as it usually does
I would recommend not using any preview builds in the future, its just not worth any possible “new features” that you think you may get from those type of window versions while having vastly more problem
its basically test build and you’re essentially testing it for MS
technology has always been the same, if it ain’t broken dont touch it and the newest version/update doesn’t always mean the best functionality wise. use what has known to work which is windows 10 or versions prior.
at this point if you don’t wish to reinstall, try googling to see if theres a way to stop getting preview builds (grayed out) in your case, or you might really have to wait for them to address the problem
