Playing the Blood campaign with Malta as it should be… you can use hospitals, commandaries, Order galleys, sentries, Fire-throwers, and Hospitallers, set up a tavern, create mercenaries, and revolt in the Barbary States or Hungary… I thought the campaign would be really unbalanced if I played it like that, but surprisingly, playing it on moderate is playable and fun, and it’s interesting to see Centinels and Hospitallers fighting against Janissaries, Howitzers, and Humbarazi while you’re wiping out several groups of Yoruks…![]()
Curious if you think this makes it easier or harder and what card options you have?
Nice whats the mod after all?
In the Ottoman Fort scenario I used the default deck of the Knights of St. John, but then for the Aztec Temple scenario I changed it to the standard beginner deck of the Maltese (it’s just to test the scenarios and the meta in the campaign doesn’t matter because you always win and level up anyway)…
No mod was necessary…it’s just a matter of copying the campaign folder from inside the game folder on Steam and pasting it into the scenario folder in Age of Empires 3 DE, which is inside the user folder…then you can edit the campaigns from the scenario editor and play with any civilization you want: go into the scenario editor, load any scenario, edit the players, and in civilizations, select the ones you want, and voilà…![]()
Oi, You can’t go into Industrial age in Act 1: Blood. That’s cheating.
You can’t advance to the Industrial Age with the Knights of St. John, but I was playing with the Maltese… and it’s not cheating, it’s literally moving the campaign game folder to the scenario user folder…
I was considering how having Fixed guns would change the campaign, but it actually shouldn’t be bad given that you won’t have a regular explorer to build many of them.
You also lose age 3 Mortars.
The loss of Hoop Throwers is a pain vs Ottomans, but Fire Throwers should be better vs all regular heavy infantry if I understand the bonus Hoop Throwers have.
My gut says it should be easier, which is unfortunate but cool nonetheless.
Not too much, it might be useful against Lizzie’s ships in Pirates! and maybe the last two scenarios…
You have more game difficulty settings you can play when you play them with the scenario editor.
Sure, you can play on extreme difficulty if you want and gain more experience for your deck…
