Please call this civ "Luoyue" or "Viets" instead of "Lac Viet"

The Vietnamese civ in AoE1 (the one that’s set to appear in AoE2: Return of Rome) needs to have its name changed to be a one-word civ because it just doesn’t make sense for a civ in AoE1 and 2 to have a name containing more than one word as that’s not how it traditionally works. Lac Viet has more than one word in the name. So, because of that, it would be good if AoE1’s Vietnamese civ was called “Luoyue” or “Viets” instead of “Lac Viet”.

You trully must never be bored in your life is such a thing is dramatic enough to complain about it in two different threads.

The Italian civ in AoE1 (the one that’s set to appear in AoE: The Rise of Rome) needs to have its name changed to be a not-beginning-with-R civ because it just doesn’t make sense for a civ in AoE1 to have a name beginning with R as that’s not how it traditionally works. Romans has an R as the first letter of the name. So, because of that, it would be good if AoE1’s Roman civ was called “Pomans” or “Shomans” instead of “Romans”.

(Sorry, couldn’t resist.)

Is this a joke statement you made? I hope it’s just sarcastic because this statement isn’t equivalent to what this topic here is about.

Yes.

There is a sense in which my statement is equivalent to yours: Your complaint is that the name “Lac Viet” doesn’t meet some arbitrary criterion that you’ve come up with based on the existing civ names. My (joke) complaint is that “Romans” doesn’t meet some arbitrary criterion that I’ve come up with based on the existing civ names.

I don’t know about AoE1, but AoE2’s Romans should definitely be called Bomans. There’s been a civ with a name starting with B in every single dlc since African Kingdoms (Berbers, Burmese, Bulgarians, Burgundians, Bohemians and Bengalis), which means it’s now a TRADITION. It’s also definitely a conscious choice and not a mere boincidence. The devs thought they could fool us by including all AoE1’s civ in the dlc exclusively to have a justification for putting the Babylonians in it, but psh, we know it doesn’t count. It will be in a separate game mode and it’s an older civ anyway. We deserve and need the Romans to be named Bomans because traditions, and otherwise, I don’t know, planet Earth may explode or something!
/s, since it’s never obvious enough.

This will go nicely with their new regional naval unit, the Bomon.

Don’t forget Bagyars, and my personal favourite, Boreans.

(I don’t know why I find this so funny…)

Or just Yue, which would be a big umbrella that covers Southern Chinese tribes.

Hahahahaha. :joy:
