That’s a good time but it won’t beat my 34 sec win on Grab the Relic 11
I’ll have to look at my replay. It may very well have been around 34 seconds for me, too
Alright, seems we have a contest going on here . Who can do it even faster? Is 34 seconds beatable?
It’s beatable if you get good RNG with the monastery placement and if you’re Lithuanian I guess.
I don’t know where the snow particle effect is defined/implemented. I wish I did, I want that snow effect too!
It seems they did actually remove the Lunar New Year mods.
Now if I re-upload them, should I do 4 separate mods (UI, forage bush, TC deco, fireworks) or put them all in one upload?
I think separate mods will be better.
Here’s the main menu background: https://www.ageofempires.com/mods/details/3340/
The others don’t want to upload for some reason. I’ll try again later.
Waiting for fireworks and TC decoration
Thanks for your work!
I watched my replay. Sadly, I clocked in at an abysmal 1m 37s I was Spanish so had to create a monk. Not sure if any civ has a monk at the start?
Oh, I was on Normal speed. I wonder if CactusSteak2171 was on Fast? If you have to create a monk and are on Normal speed, would 34 secs be possible?
Wondering why the particle effects thing isn’t moddable, I mean there could be myriads of effects like snow, fog, smoke, autumn/fall leaves, leaves and debris in a storm etc. that could be added to the game as mods.
It might be moddable, but maybe the ability has just not been found yet? I spent quite a bit of time looking through a bunch of files and folders yesterday, but couldn’t find yet. I saw a particles folder, but didn’t see fire embers that are used on the main menu
This. It surely is moddable; it’s just a matter of figuring out how. My bet is one of the vast number of json files
How do you open/edit a .json file, do you know? Am wondering…
any text editor like notepad will work.
Oh, whoops. I did that already for several .json’s, but I think(?) I remember encountering some .json’s that showed scrambled info when trying that.
And, of course, some other file types other than .json were showing scrambled characters.
I wonder what would be needed to view files that show scrambled and weird characters?
It was 34 in game seconds, so the speed won’t matter.
I did it this way:
