Kronos: The Overpowered and broken God of Team Games
Kronos is the only god that’s completely broken, especially in team games where all three rival players are Kronos. It’s practically impossible to beat a team of three Kronos players. Kronos’s rush is simply too powerful and broken. His divine powers, Deconstruction and Time Shift Buildings, are incredibly overpowered and broken.
Kronos is the only god with so many offensive advantages available in the Archaic Age! The Kronos rush ruins multiplayer games! Nobody enjoys facing a Kronos rush because it’s too broken in team games. The Kronos rush just makes people not want to play the game.
Theres way to play against it, granted is specific. Scout Who they are teaming up against, create your temple away from their vision to secutr age up. Have your allies help you early and get defensive god powers if available. Ofc it depends on your allies but hey its a 3vs3 teaming up goes both ways. If all 3 kronos players invested on rushing they sacrificed their eco so as long as you age up and manager your villagers your 2 allies Will out grow them. Specially on team games securing gold is easier since you can hop into your allies base for resources and Just bail your main base so you can secure resources and army.
Btw Is this all you do? Write forums with all caps and find something New to complain about?
I’ve played a fair amount of Kronos rush. It’s not that strong. In fact, in team games I find it’s weaker than in 1v1s, because I can deconstruct one player’s temple, but not the other’s. The other can get out heroes to counter my myth units pretty easily.
It’s also only strong against Eggy and Norse. Greeks and Atty can easily get out heroes without me being able to stop them.
I’m not talking about 1 vs 1, I’m talking about team matches, especially matches where all the opponents are Kronos. In team matches, it’s practically impossible to beat a team of three Kronos players.
Kronos rush isn’t OP, It is just super annoying to play against. and after you defend your self the game is practically done since the Kronos guy just lend two myth units into blender and now he has to defend without having myth units. Not very fun game to be in but definetly not broken.
In theory I think the strongest way to play as Kronos should be to launch an early attack with your two free myth units and maybe one more. Then use the slight distraction that provided to help you into a Fast Heroic. Kinda similar to the Drush FC strategy from aoe2. Personally I’m not good enough at managing my eco to make it work.
I’m talking 1v1s and TGs. In fact in TGs it’s a less effective strategy than in 1v1s, because the strategy relies on deconstructing their temple to stop them getting heroes out. But if you have multiple enemies with temples around, you can’t easily stop them all. And you then have to choose between all focusing on one enemy, in which case the others can lend a tiny amount of hero support while booming up safely behind that, or you each target one enemy, in which case it’s basically like three 1v1s simultaneously, except that you have to win all of them for the strategy to pay off.
Some gods are very strong on certain maps. Which is why they are picked on them. Part of having bans and god picks makes it so players have to adapt and shift play depending on opponent, map and choices.
Players would pick the gods that play well vs most of the game or the one thats more overpowered at the moment. They would svoid those gods that are very strong on 1-2 scenarios but fall short in others.
If you think you would see all god representation so you could see the different match ups. Thats not what you would end up getting. Just the same 4-6 gods.
“Completely broken,” nah. Kronos Rush is a cheese that can be dealt with pretty easy unless all the teammates are teaming up on you in which you just need a reliable team as well to back you up.
Kronos rush is harder to do than you think. Greek hero’s decimate myth units, and two hero’s can easily defend VS Kronos rush for a few minutes without making a single other unit.
For Norse a bit harder, need to advance fast, you need to adjust your strat. You can’t advance at 5min and expect to have a good time.
At lower levels it’s easy to do early Kronos pressure without too much skills required, and be very hard and punishing. You only need the most basic build order. But once you get to slightly stronger players, you still need good micro otherwise you get rolled completely. Definitely not OP, maybe even needs a slight buff
