So if it was 110 in your local currency would you be okay with that? That’s roughly 3 times de
On top of that game will run through DLC model thus making civs locked behind a huge paywall.
I’m not following then. Because there is clearly a jump in quality, this isn’t an old remake.
I really do not understand where you guys are coming from.
Even aoe2 had dlc and who said the pay wall for aoe4 dlc would be huge? You got a source or you just completely pulling crap out?
It would be much better than the current price. Btw is this a discussion or a negotiation? Do you speak on behalf of MS? LOL Sorry, couldn’t resist.
I will leave the discussion.
It will not lead to fruitful results.
However, I must say that the complaint is here, I hope that MS thinks about the consumers here in Latin America and Asia.
See u guys,
Have a good night.
Clearly not. I’m just showing I agree that it should be lowered to that. But making it lower then that is something I can’t support
HD DLCs price were 5$. In DE they have less content and offering 10$. Now with AOE4 they can say we have more good looking DLC but less contents, so we are making it 15$ and pay us more now. MS is slowly moving towards that direction.
DE also offers far more support with updates every couple months and continuing bug support. Something HD rarely did, with balance patches being rare.
We’ve literally gotten like 3 balance patches this year alone.
You lose even more money tracing every pirate…
Check HoMM3 page on Steam vs GOG best sellers (you can check every week, it’ll stil lbe there).

So take action to prevent piracy. Companies have dome it in the past. Including lines of code that take action against pirated copies.
True, not every work needs a pc.
I didn’t see your answer when I sent the message you answered. Yes, 110 is reasonable.
I don’t think the game is worth the price in brazilian currency, which is a country where most are poor. Of course if I complaining about the price in a certain currency is because I think it’s not worth it, even if it’s desirable.
I don’t remember now pvp-exclusive achievements on DE, but in HD only 4,6% of the playerbase got 50 victory online, which I think is a good number (50 victories) to measure if someone really plays online or is just having fun once in a while.
In China, the standard version of the AOE4 retails for about US$40. I know this is insignificant in the Developed Country, but in China this is a worthwhile expense even for those with jobs, and for a student like me it’s a lot of money, it’s about ten days of my living expenses.
The overly expensive pricing will dissuade many onlookers, especially committed AOE2 and AOE3 players, and those who played pirated Age of Empires in their childhood. Most of us thought $27 would be an appropriate price.
Yup the price is too costly ,there are many people that i know decided to wait and not buy the game ,it’s just too costly at this point ,during this “covid-19 pandemic” not all gonna have good financing ,most age groups who love to play video games are kids ,early teenagers (don’t earn ) & others who play for fun from early 20s (who earn and can pay ) ,i remember myself playing this game as a kid ,because the games weren’t costly & easily affordable if i were a kid now and ask my parents to buy aoe4 now that will be a hard "no " from them ,it’s just a example ,if you consider reducing the price it would be huge and big for many people.
I wish it was $39.99 for base game and $49.99 for Deluxe Edition.
Well it costs 60-80 euro here in poor Eastern Europe too. Just deal with it.
I live in Turkey and standart Edition is 300 Tl 35 Usd delux Edition is 45 Usd. These prices are overpriced. I know so many people wont buy it because of price. Good luck devs to sell the game over prices.
And you know what else a computer can do other than playing AOE? I think you know. Me and the OP (both of us from the same country so I know) can afford a $600-$700 computer, not even $1000, after 6 months - 1 year of savings. And obviously we don’t buy computer only to play games. We just can’t afford to spend our 1 month of savings only on a game/entertainment.
As for player base, yes, Europe, China and USA have the biggest player base. (Not sure about Brazil, Argentina). But as the OP said, he (along with some others) managed to actually make a playerbase of AOE II in our country only because of the cheap price.
I wonder how many DLC’s and extra content they are planing?
I hope they don’t something like this:
$60 usd for baic base game
- $15 per Civ to unlock (or else you get to play just 1 civ)
- $25 Map pack (or else you only play on 1 map)
- Custom\mod pack extra $20
- $15 Rank rating pack, be able to play and get a rank and enter tournaments (each tournament $5)
- HD pack $15 UDH $35
- music pack $20 or else no game music
- DLC 1 $40
- Water pack $30, be able to build navy and play on water maps (water map pack extra $15)
etc
I hope $60 USD is not just the tip of the iceberg.
