Please remake the Jeanne d'Arc and Zhu Xi's Legacy

Although we did not receive two completely new civilizations in the second half of the year, the six new variant civilizations that participated in the war this year are indeed better than the original four variant civilizations. The new variant civilizations all come from a certain dynasty or military group of the original civilization, which is more in line with the civilization setting of the Age of Empires.I believe that the official has listened to the suggestions of previous players, so I am very grateful for the game official’s concern and attention to game players. Everything is getting better.Returning to the original four variant civilizations, we like the Age of Empires because players can play as countries or dynasties in history, rather than a single character or a certain spiritual ideology. Therefore, I strongly recommend remaking the Jeanne d’Arc and Zhu Xi’s Legacy.

Here are my suggestions for redoing the Jeanne d’Arc and Zhu Xi’s Legacy

The Remake of the Jeanne d’Arc
1.The Jeanne d’Arc was renamed the Valois dynasty
2.Remake Joan of Arc’s upgrade route
It was normal for Joan of Arc to upgrade to Knight and Cavalry Archer, but it was strange to appear with a cannon in the end. Joan of Arc should not upgrade according to melee or ranged routes. I think she can upgrade according to military and religious routes. Upgrading the military route can enhance Joan of Arc’s individual combat capability, while upgrading the religious route can enhance Joan of Arc’s team combat capability.
The Stage of Military Upgrade: Villagers - Warriors - Knights - Heroes
The stage of religious upgrading: villagers - believers - oracles - saints
Maybe need to redo some skills, but I think most of them can be retained.

Remake of Zhu Xi’s Legacy
Because the gameplay of Chinese civilization has a dynastic system, there are indeed certain restrictions on the naming of variant civilizations, but it is not completely impossible.
Option 1:
Cancel the dynastic succession system of variant civilizations and replace dynastic succession with dynastic prosperity, which is very suitable for the Tang and Ming dynasties. So my suggestion is to remake Zhu Xi’s legacy into the Tang or Ming Dynasty.

  1. Remake Zhu Xi’s legacy into the Tang Dynasty
Firstly, the probability of Tang Dynasty being used in the game is the lowest, so Tang Dynasty should be given a chance to participate in the war alone. Secondly, in history, Shaolin Temple flourished during the Tang Dynasty. According to folklore, Shaolin Temple’s martial monks once saved Emperor Taizong Li Shimin, which is in line with the game’s landmark of Shaolin Temple and Shaolin martial monks. Finally, Tang Dynasty’s firearms were not developed, which is also in line with the current legacy of Zhu Xi that there are no firearms. So I strongly recommend that Zhu Xi’s legacy be remade into the Tang Dynasty, changing the dynastic changes to the prosperous period of the Tang Dynasty, using several prosperous periods of the Tang Dynasty: the rule of Wude - the rule of Zhenguan - the prosperous period of Kaiyuan - the revival of Yuanhe, replacing the Tang Dynasty - the Song Dynasty - the Yuan Dynasty - the Ming Dynasty [武德(唐)-贞观(宋)-开元(元)-元和(明)].
Changing Zhu Xi’s legacy to Tang Dynasty hardly requires redoing civilization, only changing the writing, which is very simple.
  2. Remake Zhu Xi’s legacy into the Ming Dynasty
There are relatively many changes needed to remake Zhu Xi’s legacy into the Ming Dynasty, but many of the settings of Zhu Xi’s legacy are also in line with the history of the Ming Dynasty. During the Ming Dynasty, Shaolin Temple martial monks helped the court’s army fight against Japanese pirates, which is also in line with the landmark Shaolin Temple and Shaolin martial monks in the game. However, I believe that the Ming Dynasty needs to add a new type of soldier, a new type of musketeer called the Three Eyed Gun, which can fire three bullets continuously. It can be said that it is the gunpowder weapon version of the Zhuge crossbow. The final dynastic transition can be changed to the four prosperous periods of the Ming Dynasty, namely the rule of Hongwu - the prosperous period of Yongle - the rule of Renxuan - the revival of Hongzhi, replacing the Tang Dynasty - Song Dynasty - Yuan Dynasty - Ming Dynasty.[(洪武(唐)-永乐(宋)-仁宣(元)-弘治(明)]
The reconstruction of Zhu Xi’s legacy into the Tang or Ming Dynasty requires the least amount of work, so I highly recommend these two plans.
    Option 2:
Retain the system of dynastic succession. The Song Dynasty is very suitable for such a variant civilization. The Song Dynasty was the only dynasty in China that did not achieve unification, and there were many dynasties during the Song Dynasty.
The Song Dynasty variant, during which the Liao Dynasty, Western Xia Dynasty, and Jin Dynasty had a significant impact on the Central Plains dynasties. Therefore, the dynastic succession changed from Tang Dynasty Song Dynasty Yuan Dynasty Ming Dynasty to Northern Song Dynasty Liao Dynasty Western Xia Dynasty Jin Dynasty. But this plan requires a lot of thorough redesign, including the addition of Khitan Party and Jurchen units, which are more suitable as a new variant civilization of China rather than a remake of Zhu Xi’s legacy. So I more support the Song Dynasty as a new variant civilization that showcases the northern ethnic groups of China, because they unlikely to produce the Jurchen Khitan and Tangut civilizations during the AOE4, which is an opportunity for these civilizations to make their debut.
There are many overlaps between the Yuan Dynasty and Mongolia, so it is not suitable as a variant civilization of China. I hope these ideas can provide help in designing and producing a variant civilization of China.

Please remake the Jeanne d’Arc and Zhu Xi’s Legacy, let us play the role of famous dynasties and countries in history.

Good point, and I gotta offer you supplement a bit.

Have you noticed that there are some obvious mistakes about the crossbows models for the Mongols and Chinese?
Their armies never actually equiped European-style crossbows with a windlass mechanism in history like the game shows. This particular issue became much more noticeable after a recent patch changed the reload animation for all crossbowmen.

Perhaps we need some new weapon models.

If you’re interested, I made rework concepts for both these variants, choosing the Tang Dynasty for Zhu Xi’s Legacy since I feel it’s the most underrated and least appreciated in Western Media.
